The author of faith
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews chapter 12 verses 2)

His resurrection ushered us a new and a better kind of life in God through Christ Jesus.
Our Lord and Master Jesus Christ is the originator and the bedrock of the new testament. From the very moment He declared His mission mandate according to the book of John chapter 4 verses thirty-four,
Jesus made His mission mandate clear to His disciples. There is more to life, its living and fulfilling of purpose than going after food. Food is important, do not quote me wrong but there are heavier matter in the kingdom which is soul winning. He told them His disciples His meat is to do the will of God and the finished His work.
That was fully the moment He made it known He was in to establish a new and a better covenant with better promises with the faith to do the extraordinary. This is the movement that fully reconciled us back to God and granted us eternal justification as though man never sinned. From Gethsemane, to Golgotha to calvary tree where He paid the ultimate price. His resurrection ushered us a new and a better kind of life in God through Christ Jesus.
That was the morning they lived never to doubt themselves and their faith in Christ Jesus.
When Jesus was still in the grave, his disciples went back to their day to day business. They thought the phase of being the disciples of Jesus had ended since their master is gone. Their faith at that moment never carried them to go into ministry to pray for people as they used to do and get results. This time, their faith was fading away. They were like they do not know what to believe anymore.
Some might even start blaming themselves for wasting three and half years following someone, after they have gotten used to Him, He had to be crucified. Many thoughts may have been flying through their mind. But that resurrection morning brought so much conviction in them which built their faith fully on Jesus Christ. That was the morning they lived never to doubt themselves and their faith in Christ Jesus.

It took him a while to develop his faith but to others it was an instant experience.
That was a morning of awakening. As many of them whose faith was down experienced a resurrection on that fateful morning except doubting Thomas who doubted the testimony of others, and made up his mind that he will never believe until he set his eyes on Jesus and put his finger in the wound on his master’s hands. It took him a while to develop his faith but to others it was an instant experience.
24 – “But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25 – The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
26 – And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27 – Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28 – And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29 – Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” (John chapter 20 verses 24 to 29)
The scripture according to the book of Hebrews chapter twelve verses two made it clear why we should hang our faith completely on Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the author of our faith. Without Him there is no faith to live for
There is a source of every thing under the sun. There is nothing that existed that does not have a source. Any thing that does not have a source is doomed. The true source of faith is Jesus. If anyone will enjoy in God he or she must first access such faith through accepting the finished work of Christ Jesus on the cross. It is only for them who believe that all things are possible. It is never for them who did not believe. I hope you believe.
Jesus is the author of our faith. Without Him there is no faith to live for. He is the originator of faith that produces lasting impacts. If Jesus is the author of our faith, and been the begotten son of God Almighty, that means before anyone could be able to access the God’s kind of faith that enables a believer to live a successful christian life. The source of true faith is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus is not only the author of our faith, He is also the finisher of our faith.
Jesus is not only the author of our faith, He is also the finisher of our faith. This simply means that Jesus is not only our source, He is also our sustainer. It inspires that once one put his or her faith in God through Jesus Christ, there is guarantee that he or she will never experience failure in any situation of life. In one of the occasions, Jesus as He journeys with His disciples He began to teach them faith at work.
It was amazing that His words will such a great power that even plantations can hear Him and obey His words. Not until the day they saw Jesus walked to a fig free which with all indications should have fruits on it, only for Him to meet leaves and He spoke to that fig tree. Jesus spoke to the fig tree, those words of Jesus was never ordinary. The words of Jesus carry power. They are powerful words released which can cause tremendous impacts. Of course His disciples never took those words serious. (Mark chapter 11 to 14)
The word of the master is so powerful
The disciples heard when He cursed the tree and they went their way to accomplished their assignment. On their way back Peter took note of what happened and he did not hesitate to bring it to his master knowledge because he wanted to know how that was made possible. Yes, it was his master that did it and he desired to act as his master and get result like his master.
To their shock as they walked passed by, they saw that the same fig tree the Master spoke to has dried up within some hours. In their mind how possible could that be. If they were not there when He spoke to that very tree, they would not have believed anyone talking to them in that respect. But it was a reality right before their eyes. They did not hesitate to called the attention of the Master to it. They made Jesus to have a look at what He had forgotten. Jesus knew what the end of that very fig tree will be after He had spoken to it. Jesus knew at that moment He needed to clarify His disciples of certain things. That was why He responded this way,
22 – And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 – For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” (Mark chapter 11 verses 22 to 23)
In conclusion:
Looking unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith, we are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even by the Spirit of the Lord. God has something better for us than we have ever had in the time past. Come out into all the fullness of faith and power and life and victory that He is willing to provide. We have to forget the things of the past, and press right on for the prize of His high calling in Christ Jesus.
