Your leadership needs connection
Why are we talking about your leadership needing connection in a time like this? It sounds absurd to some who will read through this very statement as you do right now. Your opinion may be that the greatest challenge and threat to the leadership of the African continent is the room of connection. Those who are not eligible and competent to lead have assumed the position of leadership which is as the result of the connection they have. And instead of them leading the people forward to access their future, they end up taking the people back and keep them in the state of stagnation.
We are not here to talk about the leadership of Africa where egotism is the order of the day, except for few who understand that leadership is not about enriching oneself and family, but it is an avenue to impact and transform lives and society at large. We are not talking about the human connection, but we will be talking about the ultimate connection which links man to his original source.
Those who are not eligible and competent to lead have assumed the position of leadership which is as the result of the connection they have
Because there is a mix up somewhere that resulted to the break of man and his true source to exhibiting an effective leadership. At the beginning of leadership process man at his very initial stage had a cordial connection with God Almighty and that kept man at the apex of his leadership. But the very moment man’s connection with God Almighty was tempered with, the leadership of man began to diminish. Leadership of man starts declining.
Man was never the author of leadership. Man never instituted leadership. God is the author of leadership and the wisdom to lead effectively flows from God Almighty. It is the place of God’s leadership that was delegated to man to lead on God’s behalf. Do not forget that man was able to fix into the place of leadership because man was created in the image and likeness of God Almighty.
At the beginning of leadership process man at his very initial stage had a cordial connection with God Almighty and that kept man at the apex of his leadership
4 – Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 – I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 – If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.” (John chapter 15 verses 4 to 6)
The disconnection of man from God Almighty really crumbled and crippled the effectiveness and efficiency of man’s leadership. You can’t discharge leadership effectively to impact lives and cause transformation in the society if you do not have a genuine connection with the Lord God Almighty. It does not matter what your stake about leadership is, once you are not connected to the source of effective and efficient leadership, you cannot be effective and efficient in your leadership to its fullness.
I know some of you may want to dispute the statement so far, you see there are men and women that lay legacy for effective and efficient leadership, but that was not sustained and most of them ended up compromising. It was on this note that many who began great started losing it at last.
You can’t discharge leadership effectively to impact lives and cause transformation in the society if you do not have a genuine connection with the Lord God Almighty.
No matter how genuine you claim your leadership to be, your leadership will be tested and will pass through the test of fire. Everyone will someday and somewhere be faced with the option of compromise, it will take those who have a genuine connection with God Almighty through a relationship built on accepting the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. God was once faced with a scenario to compromised.
2 – “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 – And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” (Genesis chapter 1 verses 2 to 3)
There is no one who becomes a transformational leader without first having a genuine connection with the One that understands what it takes to become a transformational leader. God is an epitome of a transformational leader. Looking at the account of creation, you will understand better. If there is any cause to impact the lives of the people positively, there should be a connection with God Almighty that instituted leadership.
Conclusion
“If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.” (John chapter 15 verses 6)
You can’t exhibit a lasting effective leadership if you do not have a genuine relationship with God.
