If I quit now, who can believe I ever tried
Anyone who quit in every life responsibility will not amount to anything great. I am amazed the way people snubbed responsibility yet they desire to achieve greatness. How can they achieve greatness if they are not people of responsibilities? It does not matter what you think to justify your opinion or action, if you are not a person of responsibility, success and greatness will be far from you.
One day a friend of mine approached me with this wonderful dream that he had towards achieving a desire and beautiful future. After he was done explaining everything to me, I told him it was a wonder dream and I am going to be his accountability partner to make sure he lives to fulfill that dream. Yes, while I told him that I was going to be his accountability partner is because I vividly understand his kind of person he can say wonder things he ought to do and after all say he will procrastinate the whole process of getting started. That will be the end of the dream and its accomplishment.
Never desire to quit
I remembered that we were on it together and every now and then I will ask him what next. He will explain what he has done so far and what he is going to do. I will congratulate him for the achievement so far, but I will encourage him for there are more to do. Now you need to push further to take it to this point. In one of the occasions of pushing, he turned to me and said,
“Brother I am not you. You have to take it easy the way you push me. I am not that think of person that will pick up a responsibility and run with it to the finishing end at once. I always take my time to accomplish whatever it is I am pursuing.”
Then I replied, “Why did you share your dream with me in the first place. I believe you shared it because you needed someone who will always put you on check and push you into fulfilling end.”
“Yes,” he replied. “But I need to take it easy. I don’t have the strength to run with it that fast.”
“It alright,” I responded.
You see, it is never that he wanted to take it slowly and steady into fulfilling that dream, he was just looking for a way to quit. The next time I asked him about his dream, he told me he is still on it and I know he has quit.
Who will ever believe you tried. You are the only person who will attest to that. You are the only person who will cry it loud you tried. No one else can make that cry with you without first seeing the fruit of your labour.
Finish what you started
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Genesis chapter one verses one Kjv)
God creating the heaven and the earth is a prove He has created something. God would have said He has tried and quit creation. But verse two gave an assessment to the God’s effort so far. Genesis chapter one verse two said,
“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.” I don’t think you get that, verse two said, ‘Oh God even the earth You created is without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep. God thought about what was before Him.’
What then did you hear again? Gen 2 :2B, “And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”
Remember, the reason I cited this very scripture and bringing our focus on God is because we are created in the image and likeness of God.
At the injury time, things became tough. It is as though one’s effort never makes and paves way. Most of the case, one is left with the thought to quit trying. One is left with the thought that he or she does not have what it takes to progress. Some believe they are not equal to the task in the first place. Some have accepted failure as their next option by quit pressing further. If you quit now who will ever believe you tried. If you quit now, who will believe you did your best. If you quit now what will people say about you.
Conclusion
It’s only few who believe they have gone this far never to quit trying. Going through the process is good, but obtaining the necessary results is superb.
Too late to quit! Too late to give up! Keep pressing on!
