WHEN THE GLORY DEPARTED, DARKNESS ENCROACHED
The foundation God laid for mankind is the foundation of light. Yes, it is wise to realise that the earth is founded on a solid foundation which is not hindered. And things therein were made to run on the foundation of clarity and visibility. God dealt with every form of darkness from the very beginning of creation. Darkness was never meant to be a stronghold in the affairs of man on earth.
Leadership built on the foundation of light simply reveals the kind of leadership that is in operation. Leadership of the light is God kind of leadership where transparency is the order of the day. It is the leadership that is being exhibited out of love and justice. This is the kind of leadership people think more of others comfort than they think of oneself. Leadership of the light is never about oneself but about others. It is not about getting oneself transformed, it is about getting others transformed. It is not about one’s family, it is about the entire society. Leadership of the light is the only kind of leadership that can transform the people and society positively.
“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice:” (Proverbs chapter 29 verses 2A)
This kind of leadership is full of pains, hardships and agony.
Leadership built on the foundation of darkness simply reveals the kind leadership that is in operation. Leadership of the dark is satan’s kind of leadership where transparency is a forgotten commodity. This is the kind of leadership that corruption is the order of the day. This is the kind of leadership that embraces injustice and throws away justice. It is capitalized on violence if that is what it will takes to perpetuate their evil act and achieve their desire. Love among others is a difficult task since no one can trust and believe each other.
This is the kind of leadership driven by self. It is all about oneself and little or nothing about others. It is the leadership that focus on oneself and the entire family, then throw others on the scale of survival of the fittest. This is the kind of leadership that is master at enslaving the people. This kind of leadership is full of pains, hardships and agony. This is the leadership of egotism. Nothing matters to him about the people as long as he is personally satisfied. It is all about him and his family.
“…but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” (Proverbs chapter 29 verses 2B)
It was man’s disobedience that caused leadership of the dark to encroach
God dealt with the leadership of the dark when it tried to string in. How did this kind of leadership surface again and later pollute the whole world. It all started in the garden of Eden when man succumbed to the deception of the enemy. The very moment man disobeyed God and obeyed satan, he enthroned satan as his lord and that was when things began to sour. It was man’s disobedience that caused leadership of the dark to encroach.
4 – And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 – For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 – And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 – And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8 – And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
9 – And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 – And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. (Genesis chapter 3 verses 4 to 10)
This is the very moment leadership of the dark started encroaching. It is a terrible kind of leadership. It can harm and destroy everything. Everything at that moment began to experience obscurity.
Conclusion
When the glory departed, encroaching of darkness is inevitable. It is the glory that chases away darkness. That is why in Mathew chapter 5 verses 16 says,
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
It is your responsibility, it is your right and it is in your power to exhibit the leadership of the light but letting your light shine through cordial relationship with the Lord God Almighty.
