When it gets tough
There are battles to fight before one can successfully gets to his or her destination
There are times when things seemed not to flow the way you expected. Things might be hard now to some persons. And to some it is so difficult that it seems as though the whole earth is turning upside down. Nothing seems to be flowing well. At this point in time, there are too many questions to ask and there are too many answers awaiting
Life is a journey. There are battles to fight before one can successfully gets to his or her destination. We are never in the thought about our existence before we arrived. We were never told how the journey is going to be. We were never explained to how tough the journey is going to be. We found ourselves in the scene and we were confronted with challenges. Most of them are there to wear us down and make us seem unqualified for their confrontation.
Everything went sour the very moment man disobeyed God by falling into the deception of the devil
We were born to inherit challenges. The fall of man brought challenges upon man and his journey in life. Everything went sour the very moment man disobeyed God by falling into the deception of the devil. That was a crucial moment in the life of humanity. When will all these challenges come to an end? Oh yes, the challenges of life have come to stay. Man gets to learn to live with them.
12 “You know the story of how Adam landed us in the dilemma we’re in–first sin, then death, and no one exempt from either sin or death.
13 That sin disturbed relations with God in everything and everyone, but the extent of the disturbance was not clear until God spelled it out in detail to Moses. So death, this huge abyss separating us from God, dominated the landscape from Adam to Moses.
14 Even those who didn’t sin precisely as Adam did by disobeying a specific command of God still had to experience this termination of life, this separation from God. But Adam, who got us into this, also points ahead to the One who will get us out of it.” (Romans chapter 5 verses 12 to 14 MSB)
The problems and challenges of life was caused by a man’s disobedience to his Maker
It is true these challenges might have been in place before we arrived but we are here to amend thing and make things right. The problems and challenges of life was caused by a man’s disobedience to his Maker. So it will take man to put things right for the glory of God Almighty. Yes, it is obvious that our master and Lord Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for the redemption of mankind.
17 – “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 – Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 – For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” (Romans chapter 5 verses 17 to 19)
No one was qualified for the redemption of mankind
On this, since our Lord and master Jesus Christ was able to handle the sinful consequences of the human race, so it is meant for everyone to go ahead to handle their respective challenges. There is no tough time that is made to be tougher than an individual who believes and accepts the finished work of Christ on the cross. Once anyone accepts the finished work of Christ on the cross, the grace to overcome any tough time comes upon the individual.
The love of Christ on the human race was unconditional. No one was qualified for the redemption of mankind. Jesus took it upon Himself to leave His place on the right hand of the Father to come on earth to rescue man from the captivity of the enemy. Man was deeply in sin, when Christ came for his rescue.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans chapter 5 verses 8)
Conclusion:
When it gets tough, always remember your source. If God is truly your source, always make Him your sustainer. You don’t have to face the battle of life alone. You need God by your side to be able to confront and conquer the challenges of life. When it gets tough, you might not have anyone to fall back on. May you have God by your side when it gets tough.
