When God is involved
2 – “And all the king’s servants, that were in the king’s gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.
3 – Then the king’s servants, which were in the king’s gate, said unto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king’s commandment?
4 – Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai’s matters would stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew.
5 – And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath.
6 – And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.” (Esther chapter 3 verses 2 to 6)
Mordecai understood that it is a crime towards God to bow and reverence human being
What was the confidence of Mordecai that made his heart not to be shaking even in the midst of being confronted with the challenge from Haman? Everyone heart melted at the point that Haman was enthroned as the second in command. Mordecai may have known about Haman. Becoming the second in command he knew it was the devil at work.
When everyone bowed down before Haman, Mordecai knew that no one can take the place of God and be saved. It is only God Almighty that man should bow to. Man has no reason to bow to a fellow man. Mordecai understood that it is a crime towards God to bow and reverence human being. Men who do not understand are moved by the praises of the people.
When God is involved, it is no longer about you but about God and His glory.
When the people persuaded Mordecai to bow to Haman and declined every effort of conviction from them, by telling them that was against his belief for he is a Jew. That was when they decided to bring it to the knowledge of Haman. When Mordecai made his stand known, God stepped into the scene. You can’t create the platform to glorify God and He would not glorify His name.
When God stepped into a battle, who can challenge God’s authority? Haman could be angry with Mordecai but God was pleased with Mordecai. It is always wise to get God by your side in every thing that you do. You may not know how the whole process will be like, but you get to be assured that everything will turn out well for you. When God is involved, it is no longer about you but about God and His glory.
Conclusion
Haman was angry that he decided to lay his hands on Mordecai. Little did he know that trying to lay his hands on Mordecai will attract God’s revenge. No one can lay his hands on someone God is by his side. That is a battle for been defeated and become victim on the person who is after God’s elect. Once you have God by your side, every controversy is settled.
