What manner of love! God’s love towards humanity
1 – “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2 – Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 – And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.” (1John chapter 3 verses 1 to 3)
From where to where did we gain the audacity to be called the sons and daughters of God?
It is very vital and necessary for each individual to understand the extent of God’s love to humanity. As we try to unveil the mystery behind this very love of God to humanity, we cannot comprehend it to its fullness. What manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God! From where to where did we gain the audacity to be called the sons and daughters of God?
Let us go back to the context so that we will not miss the essence of God’s love towards humanity. We can’t really imagine the extent of God’s love towards humanity. We cannot figure the extent of God’s love; we cannot picture the extent of God’s love; we cannot think it; we cannot examine it; we cannot fathom it; we cannot explain it what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us.
The love of God towards humanity is beyond human comprehension.
The love of God that the Father hath bestowed upon man is so wide that no one can go around it. When we try to dig deep into it, it is so deep that no one can gets into it. When we try to comprehend the heights of it, it is so high that no one can get above it. The love of God towards humanity is beyond human comprehension.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John chapter 3 verses 16)
The One that created man in His image after His likeness is so mindful about everything that concerns man
It is God’s love towards humanity that triggered God to give away His only begotten Son. At this moment, Jesus was the only begotten Son because one of the beloved Sons of God Adam went astray and caused things that were right to start falling apart and crumble at his disobedience to God and obedience to satan. I do not want to go in detail into discussing this very verse of the bible because it will be a discussion for another day.
One thing everyone should take out of this very verse is that man is so precious to God that God could extend His unexplainable love to a corrupt world for the reason to set the ultimate process for the complete redemption of man and get him united to God. The One that created man in His image after His likeness is so mindful about everything that concerns man.
Jesus accepted all the cost to take the place of man, died for man’s salvation and total redemption of mankind
What manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon humanity that He could give His only begotten Son to pay the debt that man accumulated to himself and the human race at his disobedience to the order of God Almighty. Man actually went into a curse in life that he cannot render help to himself. No matter how man tries in his fallen state to deliver himself from the repercussions and consequences of disobedience, he cannot effectively secure that deliverance.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans chapter 5 verses 8)
What manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us that while we are yet sinner God gave out Jesus to die for the sin of the world that was caused by man’s treason to God by going against the order of God which was a complete disloyalty to the Father. Jesus accepted all the cost to take the place of man, died for man’s salvation and total redemption of mankind.
Conclusion:
“And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.” (1John chapter 3 verses 3)
Every individual has a role to play in seeing that he or she has an authentic walk and standing with God. God brought mankind salvation and complete redemption from the captivity of the devil through the finished work of Christ on the cross and His resurrection. It is man’s responsibility to enforce the finished work of Christ on and in our daily life to be able to take charge of our place to exercise full dominion and authority.
