Understanding the mission mandate
27 – “And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?
28 – The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
29 – Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
30 – Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
31 – In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.
32 – But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
33 – Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
34 – Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” (John chapter 4 verses 27 to 34)
Everything about the coming of Christ on earth is on purpose
It was on this note that Jesus made His kingdom agenda known to everyone. Jesus came seeking for the lost sheep of God. He was is the business to help and make man finds his place in God’s plan. Man has gone astray and was in dept under the captivity of the devil. It was obvious that man does not have what it takes to set himself free from the bondage of the devil.
Jesus agreed to come to set man free was on purpose. Jesus left Hks throne in heaven to come on earth is for a purpose. Jesus chosen to come in the form of man was a purpose. Jesus going through the process of training and discipleship is for a purpose. Jesus making disciples is for a purpose. Everything about the coming of Christ on earth is on purpose. That is the mission mandate we are keen to look at in this episode.
Man lost his relationship and communication with God Almighty which was terrible experience to mankind
Jesus knows it all. He knew the aspect of engaging people on one on one. To impact life was the intention of Jesus to humankind. He was deliberate about His course on earth. Time is ticking and days are going. There is need for everyone to be on course. Life is never an accident. Man was on course and he was made to fulfill that very course.
Even when man lost his bearing in the garden of Eden when he fell victim to devil’s deception. Every thing lost it bearing including lost of his position and place of leadership. Man lost his relationship and communication with God Almighty which was terrible experience to mankind. Because the center could not hold anymore, things began to be falling apart. Doubt stepped in to the mandate of mankind.
God cannot really flow with such life that is out of order
Everything that God created was created on course. Everything that God created were living their course except mankind. That became a concern that man created in the image after God’s likeness has lost his bearing to live on course. Any life that is living out of course cannot fulfill purpose. Any life that does not fulfill purpose cannot arrived to its beautiful destination.
Jesus came because there was a course on ground. Nothing is as disastrous as a life living and walking out of course. God cannot really flow with such life that is out of order. Living and walking out of course, can only lead one in stagnation. Walking out of course can only lead into damnation. There is no true destination walking out of course.
We are created in the image after God’s likeness to live to reveal His glory thereby making the earth a more better place for habitations
When His disciples felt Jesus must be so hungry at the moment, but little do them realised that there is more about anyone and the course he or she was created to fulfill than filling the stomach. Food could be important but fulfill purpose is more important. There is for everyone to discover one’s mandate on earth. We did not created ourselves. We are created in the image after God’s likeness to live to reveal His glory thereby making the earth a more better place for habitations.
“Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” (John chapter 4 verses 34)
Jesus understood the important of meat in every meal and that is why He was keen to use meat to illustrate what He was saying at the moment. It was clear that we were all created for a course and it is individual’s responsibility to live to fulfill that very course he or she was created for.
Conclusion
According to the book of John chapter 4 verses 34, Jesus declared His mission mandate. There is a daily meal to everyone who believes in the finished of Christ on the cross. That is to do the will of God. To do the will of God is to reveal the glory of God.
