The victim who needs salvation
How lovely will it be when it comes to our knowledge to realise the personalities behind salvation. For us to be talking about salvation that means there is a short coming. Salvation does not just happen. Salvation is a the whole process of being saved. Talking about salvation simply means one must have been lost and needed urgent help of rescuing and total freedom.
There is a lost sheep and the rescuer is what we will be dealing with in this episode. The lost sheep was designed to follow and maintain a particular track. As long as he maintains the track, he will be saved. Man is the lost sheep. I don’t want to be direct here, but I will want to visit the account that made man the lost sheep.
The crack that made man victim
6 – And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 – And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8 – And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
9 – And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 – And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
11 – And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? (Genesis chapter 3 verses 6 to 11)
This is when there was a crack in the relationship between man and his Maker. It was a crack before it brought breakage when man failed to accept full responsibility. There was a deceiver in place that went about seeking for a means to mess up the union between man and his Maker. Of course, he found an opportunity and man became a victim. Man becoming a victim in devil’s net, soured his relationship with God.
Man became victim because of lack of responsibility
“And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? (Genesis chapter 3 verses 11)
This was the question God Almighty throw at man, it was man’s responsibility at that moment to take charge as the god of the earth and made appeal for forgiveness. But he never did instead he went ahead to portion the blame to the woman as though he never knew the fruit in the first place before he ate it. You know many of us has found ourselves in such scenario, instead of accepting the responsibility which would have eluded much havoc, we chose to lay the blame on someone else which has caused much devastation. Man became victim because of lack of responsibility
Trying to portion the blame does no good but can harm everything. I can tell you God was not that furious when He discovered man ate fruit, God became furious when man lack the capacity to accept his fault. God is ever merciful! He is a merciful God that is eager to exercise mercy. But man never granted God that opportunity to show how merciful He is. Of course that did not end well for man.
Trying to portion the blame does no good but can harm everything
16 – Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
17 – And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
18 – Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
19 – In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” (Genesis chapter 3 verses 16 to 19)
Man became a victim in the same land he was made to be a victor all the days of his life and exercise full dominion. Man became a slave to the land where he was made not just a hero but a king. Man lost being in charge and became a servant without an incentive. The man of honour suddenly became the man of dishonour. The man every creatures were envious of, now became the object of mockery.
One of the greatest challenges in life is taking what God has not given us.
Man was actually the victim who needed salvation. He needed help but he can’t help himself. It then became obvious that the process has been messed up. The breakage between man and his God was a huge one that man sought for quick amendment but he can’t help at the moment. One of the greatest challenges to humanity is not about what God has given us, one of the greatest challenges in life is taking what God has not given us.
You are in a denomination, you know the position you are as an usher is where you are meant to be and discharge your duty effectively but you are eyeing been the head of ushering department out of envy. You are a victim who needs help. You are cell member, you can’t go to start one and you are eyeing and praying for your head to be removed so that you can take over because the cell is growing. You are the victim who needs help. Don’t be faster than your shadow, of course you can’t be. If Eve tried it and it did not work out how then did you think it will work out for you.
Conclusion
If you have found yourself as a victim who needs help, I believe you understand and know what to do. Go back to the cross where the prize of the sin was paid.
