The significance of looking unto Jesus

 

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews chapter 12 verses 2)

 

  1. Jesus is God in the flesh.

“And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth. (John chapter 1 verses 14 AMP)

 

  1. Jesus is God’s love into manifestation.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John chapter 3 verses 16)

 

  1. Jesus is the Saviour of the world.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John chapter 14 verses 6)

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans chapter 10 verses 9)

 

  1. Jesus is our role model.

14 – “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 – Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 – Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Mathew chapter 5 verses 14 to 16)

 

“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” (1Corianthians chapter 11 verses 1)

 

  1. Jesus is our teacher.

“A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher. (Luke chapter 6 verses 40 NIV)

 

  1. Jesus is our healer.

3 – “He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4 – Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5 – But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah chapter 53 verses 3 to 5)

 

  1. Jesus is our provider.

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians chapter 4 verses 19)

 

  1. Jesus is our protector.

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” (Isaiah chapter 41 verses 10)

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” (1Corianthians chapter 10 verses 13)

 

  1. Jesus is our prosperity.

“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” (2Corinthians chapter 8 verses 9)

 

  1. Jesus is our wisdom and revelation.

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:” (Ephesians chapter 1 verses 17)

 

  1. Jesus is our power to make wealth.

“But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.” (Deuteronomy chapter 8 verses 18)

 

  1. Jesus is our covering.

9 – “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10 – And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:” (Colosians chapter 2 verses 9 to 10)

 

  1. Jesus is our intercessor.

“Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.” (Romans chapter 8 verses 34)

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:” (1John chapter 2 verses 1)
