The power in the name of Jesus

6 – “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

7 – But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8 – And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

9 – Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10 – That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11 – And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians chapter 2 verses 6 to 11)

The power in the Name of  Jesus was gotten by total yielding to the obedience and the Will of God.

The power in the name of Jesus was not bestowed on it because Jesus is God in the flesh. The authority the name of Jesus carries was not because He accepted to come on earth and experience the human race. The power in the name of Jesus was not because He accepted in the first place to come and died for the complete redemption of man. The power in the name was not gotten by sentiment, if not it would not have been making waves.  The power in the name of Jesus was gotten by total submission to the will of God, endured the shameful death on the cross for the redemption of sin and paid the ultimate price to set man free from the bondage of the captivity of the devil. The power in  the Name of  Jesus was gotten by total yielding to the obedience and the Will of God.

The redemption of man demanded everything.

The power in the name of the Jesus came into place not by God trying to protect His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. That was never the case. The issue was that there was a course on ground that needed the restoration of mankind to his original place of authority.  Someone needed to bear the responsibility. It was a costly responsibility for the redemption processes that led to the complete redemption of man.

Apparently, it was the most expensive and costly responsibility ever in the human race for Jesus stepped into place to pay the dept for the redemption of man. The redemption of man demanded everything. The redemption of mankind after his falling in the garden of Eden, was a great concern that God had to deployed everything at all cost to deliver mankind and restore him to the place of dominion and authority.

What A Man Jesus Christ! He chose to die to set mankind free.

When a call was made in the heavenlies about the responsibility and the processes to pay the ultimate price and to deliver man from the captivity of the enemy, none of the heavenlies was able to step forward for this very course. Everyone was looking at the cost of redemption and none ever believed they can bear the cost except the Lamb of God and the Saviour of mankind Jesus Christ. It was Jesus that stood firm and boldly said without any controversy and sentiment attached to it, “Here am I, send me.”

“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” (Isaiah chapter 6 verses 8)

We can see that the Name of our Lord and Master Jesus Christ became powerful by first accepting the responsibility for the redemption of man. He proceeded the responsibility and discovered it was never an easy task, He had the reasons to quit but He decided to continue when He thought about mankind. Even on His way to calvary, He endured the whole process because that was the only way out for the redemption of mankind. What A Man Jesus Christ! He chose to die to set mankind free.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the death is the victory of every believer.

We need to understand why the Name of Jesus is this powerful. Let us look at the account of Peter,

22 – “Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

23 – Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

24 – Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

25 – For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.” (1Peter chapter 2 verses 22 to 25)

It was Jesus that brought mankind total salvation from slavery of the devil. That was possible because He paid with His own blood. Man was in a terrible state that there was no help anywhere until Jesus stepped in. Jesus gave mankind complete redemption after the death on the cross, He descended into hell for the final battle and complete redemption of man. His resurrection is a proof that grave could not hold Him and He rose in victory. The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the death is the victory of every believer.

Conclusion:

9 – “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10 – That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11 – And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians chapter 2 verses 9 to 11)

You can imagine what Jesus went through on the course to redeem mankind. The reward for all that Jesus went through was God the Father giving Him a Name above all names. The Name of Jesus is  the key to open door of man’s slavery and captivity, to set the captive free. The Name of Jesus does wonders. The Name of Jesus makes the impossible possible. Once a believer mentions the Name of Jesus,  every controversy is settled. Jesus is well able to answer His Name. If you ever mention the Name of Jesus, it brings deliverance. Anywhere you go, when the going gets tough, deploy the Name of Jesus, and you will gain access to navigate through.
