The image of the invisible God
12 – “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 – Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 – In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15 – Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16 – For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 – And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18 – And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” (Colosians chapter 1 verses 12 to 18)
Jesus is the First ever Image of the invisible God. Yes, Jesus is God in the flesh. God made Himself once again to relate with man one on one. It was of a great privilegde to be created in the image after God’s own likeness. It took God everything and God deployed the ultimate in the creation of man that man will be like Him and be able to reign in God’s place.
It was of a great important to have a proper understanding how much it took God for the existence of man and what it took for the redemption of man at his treason to disobeyed God and yielded to the deception of the devil. Jesus was a gift to mankind. At the fall of man darkness encroached the whole place. Man was completely handicapped to deliver and rescue himself from the bondage and captivity of the enemy. Jesus came into the scene and paid the ultimate price to be able to redeem and deliver humanity from the kingdom of darkness and translate us into the kingdom of His marvelous light where we obtained full justification.
Jesus became the image of the invisible God was the reason for our redemption and model. Dr David Ogbueli said, “Jesus died as our Saviour but He lived as our model.” Everything about one’s complete freedom from the bondage and captivity of the enemy and living a victorious Christian life is found in Jesus. This flows in chain by accepting the finished work of Jesus, ushering us into the kingdom inheritance.
10 – “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 – He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 – But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 – Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” (John chapter 1 verses 10 to 13)
What the aforementioned “food chain” reveals is the fact that every single Christian believer is subject to God alone according to the Spiritual Chain of Command, which is why our worship is reserved only for the Godhead.
23 – “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 – God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John chapter 4 verses 23 to 24)
On this premise, it is an abomination for any True Christian to worship angels who are deployed by God to “do His Word, heeding the Voice of His Word”.
“Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.” (Psalms chapter 103 verses 20)
Equipped with this Truth, people ought to stop treating satan as though he is a fallen god, whereas he is just a fallen angel. In other words, he would still be our servant even if he hadn’t fallen in the first place since the Holy Bible Itself says:
“Are they not ALL MINISTERING SPIRITS sent forth to minister for those who will inherit Salvation?” (Hebrews chapter 1 verses 14).
Conclusion:
Every Christian believer should be eternally grateful to God for restoring us to our position of dominion through His redemption plan and the ultimate sacrifice of our Lord and Master Jesus Christ on the cross and His resurrection. Our eyes of understanding should be continually enlightened to the new creation realities in Jesus Christ.
