The dignity of labour
5 – “And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
6 – But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
7 – And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (Genesis chapter 2 verses 5 to 7)
When man missed out in the place of labour that can rob him from his place of honour.
God did not delegate the work of creation to anyone. Even the angels were watching how the work of creation was going as God handled the major work of creation. Everything about God and the creation was to teach man the dignity of labour. Life is all about labour. God understands the dignity of labour and that is what made God the almighty Creator. God been the Creator is never a title, it is out of labour.
Man was ever created to be like God. If God Almighty valued the essence of labour, man created in His image after His likeness should understand the essence of labour. Man was designed a candidate of labour. The true definition and the reality of man is found in his place of labour. Man is nothing without labour. When man missed out in the place of labour that can rob him from his place of honour.
Nothing comes into place that does not pass through labour.
Because God Almighty understands the dignity of labour that is why He took it upon Himself to create man. It was God Almighty that created man in the physical by becoming the true porter. It was out of taking the responsibility of creating the kingdom earth for mankind, that man created in God’s image after God’s likeness should live to nurture and tend the whole earth. Nothing comes into place that does not pass through labour.
Every part of the human body was created for a specific labour. Every part and organ in a human being has a specific labour it was made to handle. Any part or organ of the human body that fails in its place of labour can greatly affect the functionality of the whole body. The whole body of a man is at it’s right shape when the whole part and organ are rightly discharging their labour.
Any part or organ of the human body that fails in its place of labour can greatly affect the functionality of the whole body.
We will quickly have a critical look at some organ and the part of the body. Have you ever imagined what will happen if the lungs failed in its place of labour of taking in oxygen and the release of carbon (iv) oxide. Think about the liver being the largest solid organ in the body fails in removing toxins from the body’s blood supply can affect the whole body. If the liver fails in maintaining healthy blood sugar level, regulates blood clotting and other vital functions will not be good for the body.
Think about the heart that its primary labour is to pump blood all through the body, deliver oxygen and nutrients to organs and muscles so that they can function properly. And also removing carbon (iv) oxide and other waste products. We can go on to be mentioning one organ after the other to point out the vitality of each of them and the consequences when they fail in discharging their labour effectively.
We have to have a critical look at the five senses to understand the crucial labour that each of them carries out to keep the body in a good shape.
Your eyes bears the labour to solve the problem of seeing. The labour for seeing was perfectly designed for the eyes. There is a limit to what one can do when the eyes can’t see.
Your ears bear the labour to solve the problem of hearing. The labour for hearing was the ears designed for that. There is less to how effective one can receive direction if he or she can’t hear.
Your nose bears the labour to solve the problem of smell. You know how terrible it could be when one cannot perceive smells.
Your mouth bears the labour to solve the problem of speaking and eating. If one cannot speak, it restricts effective communication flows.
Your hands bear the labour to solve the problem of reaching out and holding. You understand the predicament of anyone without hands.
Your feet bear the labour to solve the problem of walking, running and kicking. There is always a limit to how far someone without leg can go.
Your brain bears the labour to solve the problem of thinking. Of course anything that affects the brain can destabilize the whole body.
Your mind bears the labour to solve the problem of reasoning. It will be terrible if one cannot reason.
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” (Psalms 139:14.)
No one can become a creator man who does not cherish the place of labour.
All these faculties God put in place is to aid one to effectively accomplish his or her labour efficiently. It will interest you to know that they were of great importance that is why God put them in place. God must have taken all the time to put all the organs and parts of the body in place for the specific labour of the entire body to reveal God’s glory. Everything each individual ever needed to accomplish his or her labour on earth diligently has been bestowed on him or her.
God created everything and made them beautiful. It takes the eyes to see the tree, it takes to legs to walk to it, it takes the hands to feel it, it takes brain to think out the future out of it and the mind reasoning in that direction. The hands going into full labour brings every thought into reality. When man takes his labour seriously, then he will become the creator man. The creator man is a proof of the dignity of labour. No one can become a creator man who does not cherish the place of labour.
You must have a work for yourself to be responsible
“Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.” (Psalms chapter 104 verses 23)
King David admonished that a man has a place of labour. It is a man’s place of labour that defines him. When a man receives pleasantries, you hear the statement like ‘how is your work?’ You can’t say you don’t have work. You must find one if you desire to be responsible. You must have a work for yourself to be responsible. You are not meant to stay at home doing nothing. If your work is within your home, that is great. But you can stay at home saying there is no work for you.
There is no one who has mounted an enviable height who is not a person of labour.
“For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat”. (2Thessalonians chapter 3 verses 10)
You can’t say how much you can accomplish until you get a work. There is an adage that says in my dialect that, man works under the sun to eat under the shelter. If you don’t deploy to work, you will be hunger. The easiest route to adopt poverty is the hands that fail to work. There is dignity in labour. You must be a person of responsibility for you to stand out. There is no one who has mounted an enviable height who is not a person of labour.
The principle that govern life is that food is for those who are willing to work. Anyone who is not willing to work, should not think of food. Your hands was designed to fetch you food. You can’t be lazy and be expecting food. Is it the food someone else has laboured for you are waiting to eat. I understand the fact why some persons are lazy is because they still find food to eat even their encroachments with laziness. If you go about the streets you will see caliber of young men begging for alms while there is nothing wrong with them. They chose to beg than getting a work for themselves. Begging is now a lucrative business at the moment.
Nothing brings fulfillment as labour
“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” (Proverbs chapter 22 verses 29)
Labour brings promotion. Labour can take you where certificates might not take you. It does not matter the level of academic success one has acquired, if he or she is not a person of labour, all those certificates will be a waste. The essence of those certificates is to acquire a good work for oneself. Nothing brings fulfillment as labour. Make your hands available to work.
Promotion only awaits those who have laboured.
“But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.” (John chapter 5 verses 17)
“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” (John chapter 9 verses 4)
Jesus said that He does not just exist that He must labour the work He was sent to do. Everyone was sent here for a specific labour. In your business and career have you deployed the best of your knowledge to make sure things are booming. If things are not going right, it your labour to see and make things go right. The reason why things are going wrong is because there is failure in the place of labour.
Your true self will be revealed in your place of labour. Promotion only awaits those who have laboured. Labour reveals the true character of everyone. There is no controversy to that, once one is not a person of labour, he or she cannot live a significant life. Anyone who runs away from labour, runs into self destruction. You don’t know what you are shortchanging yourself for when you despise work. Labour cannot destroy anyone rather it will make you turn out better and responsible.
Conclusion:
“He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them.” (1Samuel chapter 2 verses 8)
Men and women who will experience lifting from the Lord God Almighty are men and women of responsibility. You must have something you are doing if you expect a turnaround in your life. God will always use what is in someone hands to perform the expected miracle. Make sure you have something your hands is working on.
