Self motivation on time management
“And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.” (1Chronicles chapter 12 verses 32)
Time management is a vital aspect of self management. Those who cannot manage time very well cannot manage themselves effectively and possibly may not be able to manage money and other asset. Having a plan and usefully implementing the plan can achieve this.
“To everything, there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” (Ecclesiastes chapter 3 verses 1)
During the creation of the earth, everything was based on timing. Every thing that was made was made in its time. Every thing that God called forth showed forth in its time. Nothing that was created do appeared off timing.
“He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.” (Ecclesiastes chapter 3 verses 11)
An effective time management requires that we set priorities. Manage long term goals effectively, use daily to do list and planning calendar, deals with in decisions, deal with wrong and guilt, relax your mind and overcome procrastination, for it steals men destiny. Robert Collier said, “Success is the sum of all small effort repeated day in and day out without ceasing.”
Man must be productive and it goes with time. Martin Luther King Jnr said, “Every time is the right time to do what is right.” Any time you fail to invest your time, you are tracking through the path of failure. Time is never meant to exist, but it is meant to be invested.
Products + activity = productivity. Without activity then no product. Without activity then no production. Production and activity must answer to time productivity for it is related to time dimension. No vacant time in life. How much time you invest into the issues of life will determine how productive you will be.
There are 24 hours in a day, you must at least spend 8 hours working; spend another 8 hours reading and developing yourself; and use the remain68 hours resting and relaxing. As a youth, you do not have to waste any of your precious time going about things that does not contribute to your personal development. Time wasted an effect on your mental and physical life. Martin Luther said, “I have twenty four hours of the day that I will start the first three hours with God.
Each hour you wasted per day will be calculated per year. When you waste 2 hours every day, at the end of the year you have wasted 730 hours. Likewise to your age, if you waste 12 hours every day. It means that in a year, you have wasted 365×12 = 4380 hours. Therefore, if you are 30 years, you have wasted 4380×30 = 131400 hours. Remember there are 8760 hours in a year, there when converting it in a year, 131400 divided by 8760 = 15 years. The remaining 15 years, minus the 10 years of kindergarten and what you have left is 5 years. This means that whatever you have within this 5 years depends on the time utilized and wasted.
John C Maxwell said, “If you keep doing what you have always done, you will always get what you have always gotten.
Show me a man who diligently manages his time effectively, and I will show a man who is in for success. If you want to grow, learn how to manage your time effectively. If you must be a good student or a good business person or a good teacher, you must understand the role of timing.
