Overcome anger at all cost

“Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.” (Ecclesiastes chapter 7 verses 9)

“The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.” (Psalms 145 verses 8)

Growing up I was constantly reminded not to have anything to do with an angry man. Why? We will get to that later.
Anger is defined as an expression of gross dissatisfaction in a negative way. Yes, there is positive anger. That afterwards results in productivity. Some may argue that Jesus got angry, and flogged those buying and selling at the temple gate but really? Is that a justification?
Anger in a negative sense takes hold of your senses. You loose control of your reasoning. Some say all they see is red. Some get so hot that their temperature spikes. Some others hear a rush that deafens every other sound. Is this the anger that is justifiable.
Anger has a particular characteristic, it drives the host. It is a catalyst that propels you into anger. On a normal day, every thing may be good and sweet but once anger comes in, it brings it’s own atmosphere. Anger-strips you of your respect. Yes, it drives fear into the recipient but fear was not respect.
An adage says, he who makes you angry has control over you can you stop to ask yourself if it is worth it. In your anger do not sin. Anger may not be a sin but the proceeding action determines how it is qualified.
“He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.” (Proverbs chapter 16 verses 32)
The bible encourages us to be slow to anger. An angry man cannot be focused as a mild tempered man. It is hard to do business with this kind of person because he is unpredictable. Peace is not a word in his dictionary. People get hurt daily due to anger. It is an abominable habit. It is addictive and the carrier is not free.
Conclusion:
“For man ‘s anger does not promote the righteousness God [wishes and requires].” (James chapter 1 verses 20 AMP)
On the flip side anger breeds innovation. It brings about improvement, it brings changes. Anger may drive one to success. In any way it is seen, the bible says that human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. May God help us in Jesus name, Amen.
