Man was never elected into leadership
26 – “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 – So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 – And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Genesis chapter 1 verses 26 to 28)
Leadership in the kingdom, character formation is the almost priority
I know many may want to dispute the fact that I said man was never elected into leadership. The kingdom criteria of getting someone into the place of leadership is never by election. There is more to look into for anyone who desires the position of leadership. Election is never God’s standard to grant anyone a place in leadership. Everyone was created and born a leader, but that was never by election.
There is more about individual character than just being elected. Everyone can qualify for an election but not everyone qualifies for leadership. That everyone is born a leader does not mean everyone is qualified for leadership. Yes, we are all born leaders, but to exercise effective leadership calls for a price. Leadership in the kingdom, character formation is the utmost priority.
Any leadership that establishes its foundation on character will do tremendous impacts in the life of the people and the society at large
The first criteria in the kingdom for anyone who desires the position of leadership is to take time to build up the right character. Character is the basis in which leadership in the kingdom is established. Show me a man of character and I will show you are man who is qualified for true leadership. A person of character will always make the right kind of leadership. Any leadership that establishes its foundation on character will do tremendous impacts in the life of the people and the society at large.
God made it obvious that anyone who is going to lead and exercise dominion over the earth must be a person of character. In other words, anyone who does not have the right character to leadership, will not lead right. Of course the world system has made it clear that it is never about character. Most of the persons who have ever lead are mostly men and women with character deformation. That is why the society is still the way it is till now. The society is so sick because of leaders that lack the right character to lead.
There is no right kind of leadership in the absence of character
Let us have a critical look at the leadership of God when He stepped out for creation. Out of darkness He made light to manifest. He made all things beautiful at its very time. Everything came into place at its right and perfect time. Look at the earth that was without form and void, all of a sudden became a heaven on earth. It took the Personality of God to be able to transform the earth.
“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” (Genesis chapter 1 verses 2)
When it was time to come into scene, the Lord God Almighty made it a point of duty that man will be on the right character and it is on that basis that he will be able to display and exercise the right leadership. Leadership is always at its flop when one lacks the right character to lead. No leadership that lacks character is ever secure and safe. There is no right kind of leadership in the absence of character.
For anyone who lacks character is a proof he or she is never ready to exhibit genuine leadership
Many who struggle for the position of leadership are so desperate about the position of leadership for one selfish interest. They never went into leadership because they have the people at heart but because they thought it is time to remove poverty in their life and family. Men and women of character are never desperate about leadership. They are always ready to render sacrificial leadership where they can go the extra mile to always see the people being happy and thereby transforming the society.
Let me paraphrase it, the book of Genesis chapter one verses twenty six,
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them exercise leadership over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
Man must stir up the character if he will be eligible for the post of leadership. For anyone who lack character is a proof he or she is never ready to exhibit genuine leadership. Leadership flows from the inside out. A person of character will assume the leadership position and get the people from where they are to where they ever desire to be. But a person who lacks character will mess up the whole system and drag the people into difficulties and reproach.
Conclusion:
The wisest man ever lived testified to that in the book of Proverbs chapter twenty nine verses two,
“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”
When a person of character is in authority, the people do rejoice. But when the person who lacks character is in authority, the people mourn. That is the case with most African leaders. They are eager to do whatever it will takes to acquire the leadership position even when they know they are not qualified for it. That why Africa and my country Nigeria is still in the messed up stage of dragging their feet. God have mercy. Do not forget according to Genesis chapter one verses twenty six, It was man’s character development that granted him the opportunity to exercise leadership.
