Every thing will be in its chaos because there is no specific order governing everyone to keep people in order
Leadership is about leading right. Leading right is about keeping and maintaining order. This is one of the reasons leadership is put in place. There must be order for things to flow right. Where there is no order, things happen contrary to principles. People behave in different manner and think it to be right way. Every thing will be in its chaos because there is no specific order governing everyone to keep people in order.
If keeping and maintaining order was never necessary, God would not have introduced leadership in the very first place. God sensed the very need of leadership and it was clear that it is on the basis of leadership that order can be enforced. Where there is no leadership, anything can be the order of the day.
A leader who does not understand the role of keeping and maintaining order does not understand leadership
26 – “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 – So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 – And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Genesis chapter 1 verses 26 to 28)
We can see that God understood the need of leadership and went ahead to introduce leadership. Keeping and maintaining order is the most vital rule of any leader. A leader who does not understand the role of keeping and maintaining order does not understand leadership. People need to be led in the path of order. People need to be taught order and that is the role of the leader.
I have once encountered a leader who is so effective in our his understanding of order and there are many young men following his mentorship. He is a leader but his boys do not know who is next in charge in his absent. One day as he was teaching, he made it clear that he does not have a direct assistant. That everyone is his assistant. Wow, that was amazing. I am not being judgemental at the moment. But one can tell what the order of the day will be like if his is not around.
Where no one is held responsible is a prove there is no leadership
Where everyone can give order, there is no order to follow. There is always someone who will be in charge. There is always someone who will be held responsible. Someone must take the blame why things were not the way it should be. Someone should be able to lead others right in the absence of the main leader. Everyone cannot be in charge at the same time. Someone will dish out order while others will receive and act upon it.
In the case of Adam in the garden of Eden, God displayed high level of order when He came at the cool of the evening to have communion with man. God knew that Adam was in charge and he is the one He is going after. In the issue of any enterprise, the leader is held responsible. In the process where there is no leader, no one will be held responsible. Where no one is held responsible is a prove there is no leadership.
“And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?” (Genesis chapter 3 verses 9)
God never said “Eve where are you?”
Adam was put in full responsibility to take charge of everything including Eve
That will be a misappropriation. It will be a disorder and a failure in God’s perspective. The man Adam was put in charge and he was expected to take full responsibility and discharge his leadership effectively. God is the all knowing God. Yes, everyone is created to rule. Everyone is a born leader. But everyone cannot be the leader at the same time. Someone is to be in charge at a particular time, with that there will be order.
Yes, someone can argue that God created them male and female to exercise dominion over everything He has created. Obviously I am not disputing the fact that God created them male and female to exercise leadership over every other creatures. But in all this, someone has to be in charge to be able to enforce order. Adam was put in full responsibility to take charge of everything including Eve.
Conclusion:
If God have displayed order in leadership by placing someone in charge, we have to spell it out the same way God did it. You can enforce order by making everyone the leader of a particular responsibility. In as much as, we encourage everyone to act as though he or she is the leader to cover lapses, there is need to understand individual places in the team.
