Let your light shine
14 – “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 – Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 – Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Mathew chapter 5 verses 14 to 16)
If you are not the light of the world then you are the darkness of the world.
On this very episode we will be discussing the importance of letting your light shine. If the scripture is emphasised on every individual to let his or her light to shine, that inspires that everyone has a light. It is vital for every individual to come to the full knowledge that he or she has arrived at the point to believe that he or she is actually made of light. Yes, it is a knowing thing for you to accept the fact that you are the light of the world.
You have to realise that for the fact that one does not believe he or she is the light of the world, that signify he or she in the darkness of the world. No one stays at the fence. If you are not the light of the world then you are the darkness of the world. You are the reason why darkness is thriving because you failed to accept the fact that you are the light of the world. It is vital for everyone to arrive in such understanding to able to live out the life he or she was created to live.
The physical has a great tendency to discourage man from believing in his true identity thereby living the life has ever created to live
We need to understand that there is the spirit component of a man and there is a physical component of a man. When Jesus was talking about man being the light of the world, He was not talking looking at the physical component of man; He was talking from the spirit component of man. It is the spirit that controls the physical. It is the spirit that is the life of man.
Our greatest challenges in life is when people want to derive their justification from the physical. Life is more than just the physical. Man is more than just the physical. People lose it in life when they depend so much on the physical than they should flow in the spirit. The physical has a great tendency to discourage man from believing in his true identity thereby living the life has ever created to live. The wisest man that ever lived put it this way in the book of Proverbs chapter 20 to 27,
“The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.”
Every individual is a carrier of God’s Spirit
If the spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, that means as a candle it has the capacity to carry light. Every individual is a carrier of God’s Spirit. Everyone is with the right source to produce light. Where do people miss it? When they fail to realised that the human spirit is the candle that carries the light that the dieing world is looking forth. Once there is a candle stationed, it should be burning.
We have to know that we are the candle the LORD God Almighty will always want to burn to brighten the whole place. We can’t afford to be candle which does not have any positive effect in the society. As the candle of God, we are the ones that will lighten the whole place and bring tremendous transformation to the society at large. This candle went completely dim when man fell in the garden of Eden where he chose to disobey God and obey satan.
Once the candle is lightened, it has a place of placement where it can be of great relevance
When Jesus showed up, He brought it into our remembrance that we are the light of the world. Though darkness has encroached everywhere, yet that does not cancel the fact that we are the light of the world. You know that there is a way that darkness may last for decades that it will sound ridiculous to the hearing of people that there will be light. Even when people believe there will be light, they are keen to know where this light comes from and when will that be.
“Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.” (Mathew chapter 5 verses 15)
It was obvious from the teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ that once an individual’s candle is lighted up, it has to release it’s virtue. Once the candle is lightened, it has a place of placement where it can be of great relevance. When you are lightened up, there is a place for your placement. At your place of placement, you will show forth your relevance. It cannot be hidden once one carries the light everyone is looking for.
The light that is dormant does not reflect God’s glory and cannot bring glory to God
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Mathew chapter 5 verses 16)
It is not enough for someone to be lightened up, it is an individual’s responsibility to make his or her light shine. If one’s light does not shine, it is as though nothing different has taken place. Individual’s relevance is making his or her light to shine. On note, you have the capacity to make your light shine, you also have the capacity to make your light not to shine. The choice is yours. Let your light shine.
Jesus made it clear that the light of man is the bring glory to God. It is only the light that shines that will bring glory. The light that is dormant does not reflect God’s glory and cannot bring glory to God. Never you think it is someone else’s responsibility to make your light shine. It is your responsibility to make your light shine. Do not blame anyone for the reason your light did not shine.
Conclusion
God always want His name to be glorified. God looks to see His glory through. You are that vessel God wants to reveal through and as well bring glory to His name. You have to live to make your light shine. That is an individual’s calling. You must take the full responsibility to bring glory to God through making your light to shine. Let your light shine.
