Leadership is adding value to people lives
“And Jesus called them to Him and said, you know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men hold them in subjection. Not so shall it be among you; but whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you must be your slave. Just as the Son of man came not to be waited on but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” (Mathew chapter 20 verses 25 to 28)
One of the true definitions of leadership is adding value in the people’s live. If you have being adding value in people that means you are discharging your leadership responsibility. Of course you must set a high standard for yourself as you for anyone you are impacting. It does not matter if you are occupying a position or not. Your position, title and even recognition does not make someone great. Nobody will be remember by the great position he occupied or the titles he received.
Your greatness does not lie in your leadership position you occupy, your greatness lies in the impart you make
Great people are recognize by the value and the impartation they made. Your greatness does not lie in your leadership position you occupy, your greatness lies in the impart you make. Martin Luther King jr said, “Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve.” Service exposes the real you. it does not only make you look good, it makes you look better and aiming for the best you can be effectively discharging your responsibility. There is no clear path to a greater you without service.
May be you have being the kind who practice egotism. Nothing borders you except yourself. That is not a right living. You have to change your way of thinking about yourself alone, think about others and how you can be a blessing to them. Anybody who came in contact with you is not meant to leave you the same he or she met you. Let the life of anyone who came in contact with you has a reason to say, ‘indeed this is a day the Lord has made. I am so grateful to God that I met you.’ How will you feel hearing such testimony?
Embracing responsibility makes the transition from selfish person to servant person.
You have a responsibility to add value and impart lives. Stop going to church and sit as someone waiting to see the doctor and the nurse running about. The fact remain you can become one of the workers your pastor can depend on to be running about to make things happen. You have a place there to render a service. Your denomination is your family. No legitimate son or daughter stays idle. There is a responsibility for everyone to carryout.
Stop warming the church seat, get up and join a department where you can effectively discharge your potential. Stop saying people are there enough to carryout any needed responsibility. What if you join them, don’t you think you will reduce the stress on them and as well help facilitate things? Stop being selfish and pick up a responsibility that will not only benefit you alone, but others as well. With that you are adding value and thereby making your life to count.
Conclusion:
Leadership is more of impacting life. People need to get better than when they met you. If people are not experiencing transformation thereby becoming better following you, that means you are not leading, you are simply marking time. Be that transformational agent that adds value in peoples lives.
