Leaders are the true mirror to their followers
It is wise as we go through this journey of leadership to understand that leaders are the true mirror to their followers, and the followers are the true mirror of their leaders. Yes, your leader is a mirror to you while you are a mirror of your leader. You have to understand the difference, looking at your leader and diligently following him should so much impact you in every spheres of your life that you will live to exhibit that to the society.
If you abide and yield to the teachings and instructions of your leader, his life will impact your life and leave you better. Your leader become your mirror when you can focus on him with all that is with in you and become like him. It is a huge sacrifice to be a true follower and you will be willing to follow diligently if you must get the best out of it.
“I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.” (John chapter 10 verses 14)
If you abide and yield to the teachings and instructions of your leader, his life will impact your life and leave you better
Let us quickly look at the follower being the true mirror of their leaders. If your leader is a true mirror to you, you should also live your life to be a true mirror of your leader. You are not yet a true follower until you start becoming a true mirror of whoever you are following. You can’t genuinely be following someone with you nothing becoming like him or her. If you are not becoming like the person you are following, then it simply means you are not following diligently.
“Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?” (John chapter 14 verses 9)
You are not yet a true follower until you start becoming a true mirror of whoever you are following
Jesus made it clear here that He was the true representative of God Almighty. Jesus never became the true mirror of the Father just by birth, Jesus became the true mirror of the Father by following and living the instructions and the principles of the Father. Jesus is the true follower to the Father and that is why He became the true representative of the Father. You must learn to follow diligently if you must become. It was on this note that Jesus said,
19 – “Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
20 – For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
21 – For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.” (John chapter 5 verses 19 to 21)
You must learn to follow diligently if you must become
Becoming a true follower will cost you and one of the cost is you becoming like him. Until life styles of your leader start to live through you then you have not began. People should see you and they will be able to see your leader in you. Until your leader is seen through you, you are not yet a true follower of your leader. Your ultimate goal should be to become like the one you follow. Gone are the days people jump into the quene to follow someone without the consciousness to become and live like the one they are following.
That is why in the society today, even in the christendom we can identify leaders who never follow. You can’t trace them to any genuine man of God you know. You look at their lives, you will wonder where is all these coming from. You will equally ask who raised them and yet you will never get an answer to that. When you come across these ones and the manner they are doing things is completely off the track. Jesus said,
“Who preachers are is the main thing, not what they say. A genuine leader will never exploit your emotions or your pocketbook. These diseased trees with their bad apples are going to be chopped down and burned.” (Mathew chapter 7 verses 16 MSB)
Conclusion
When a genuine leader deposited himself into a follower, the follower get to live to reveal the qualities of his leader through the way he lives and act.
