Jesus on the cross

36 – “And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,

37 – And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.

38 – And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

39 – And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

40 – But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

41 – And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

42 – And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

43 – And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.” (Luke chapter 23 verses 36 to 43)

Anything it will cost to restore man to his place at the right hand of God Almighty, God had provided for it

We have to understand what value God placed on human being which is the temple He built for His full habitation. God deployed the ultimate love to save and deliver man from the bondage and captivity of the enemy. If God did not extend such unmerited favour of such great kindness to restored man to his place of dominion and authority, man would have still be under the mercy of the devil. Anything it will cost to restore man to his place at the right hand of God Almighty, God had provided for it.

It was recorded that two criminals were crucified with the Lord Jesus Christ, they were caught in the act of criminality and were confirmed guilty. The penalty of the crime they committed was to pay in the most shameful and cursed way for anyone to died. They were dragged like one of the sheep to be slaughtered. They were ready for the death they brought upon themselves by the crime they committed.

God gave Jesus to the world so that He can gained back the whole earth

It was a priviledge that they had the opportunity to be crucified side by side with our Lord and Master Jesus Christ. I am sure many will want to dispute the fact that I said it was a priviledge. Jesus was on a mission to gained mankind liberty from every reproach of the enemy, and the way through the cross, two criminals with the reproach of the enemy met Jesus. It was an opportunity to sort themselves out from eternal damnation.

The love God bestowed upon mankind is an endless one that nothing in this life has the capacity to alter. God gave Jesus to the world so that He can gained back the whole earth. Jesus going to the cross is for everyone. Jesus went to the cross for the most sinful person of the whole earth. The worst sinner was to be set free if he or she acknowledged and accepted the fact of what Jesus has accomplished on the cross and His resurrection.

Jesus came to solve the human problem and not to instill harm on humanity

Jesus all through His lifetime went about doing good.  Jesus never inflicted harm on humanity. Jesus came to solve the human problem and not to instill harm on humanity. Jesus going about doing good is His nature. Even on His way to the cross and upon the cross, He is in to do good. That is why I said earlier that those criminals were priviledged to witness such moment of encounter before they gave up the ghost.

One thing that is significant here is that Jesus cannot change His nature of doing good. Yes He was on the cross yet He is still the miracle working God. I do not know what transpired with the two criminals, one was accusing Jesus and the other took the advantage of such an awesome priviledge. He did not hesitate to place a demand.

There is no one who ever cried for help that Jesus will not help

39 – “And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

43 – And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.” (Luke chapter 23 verses 39 to 43)

Though Jesus hated robbery which was part of the sins he paid for, yet Jesus proved His love towards the robbers. The person is very important to the kingdom than to be totally condemned by his act. Though they were caught in the act of robbery, yet that did not change the fact they were born in the image and likeness of God. There is no one who ever cried for help that Jesus will not help. One of the criminals understood what was awaiting him was to die, but he wanted to access any means to meet God at last. Of course he got it when Jesus promised him that he will be with Him in paradise.

Conclusion:

The cross is still speaking for the liberation of man. That was where Jesus shed His blood and said it is finished before He gave up the ghost and did descend to hell for the ultimate sacrifice for man’s total liberation and victory.
