Insecurity cripples one’s leadership
It is the responsibility of the leader to be able to sense that the people surrounding him were actually sent by God for a specific course.
I have seen leaders who believed in the work they are called to do but they find it difficult to believe in the people God has brought their way to help for the work they are called to do. Every leader needs to understand that God does not do little things. He is a great God, so He is always in to do great and mighty things to prove how great He is.
When He calls an individual, He sends group of team workers who will assist in fulfilling that specific task. God’s task could be bigger than an individual, that is why to fulfill God’s purpose is never an individual’s concept. It demands group or even generations in view. It is the responsibility of the leader to be able to sense that the people surrounding him were actually sent by God for a specific course.
You must believe in those surrounding you as you dare believe in your ability
Instead of some leaders finding out what those that are brought their way can contribute in the course they are called to do to enable him accomplish what God has called and sent him to accomplished; they are carried away with the wrong mentality that those around him are eyeing their position. Leadership means so much to any genuine leader for he is in to create the right impression and leave the right legacy.
To any genuine leader, leadership is more of a purpose fulfilment than just occupying the leadership position and exercising leadership. You must learn to contended with yourself and those surrounding you. You must believe in those surrounding you as you dare believe in your ability. Leadership is never about an individual. Leadership is about others and the impact that will make in the society at large.
You don’t have to lead with the consciousness that someone will take you away from your leadership position
Because some leaders thought leadership is about them and them alone, they have encountered so much problems and difficulties that have caused so much frustration in their leadership. If you think leadership is about an individual, he or she should not fail to realise that he or she is leading only himself and no one else is following. You don’t need to be told how disastrous that could be in one’s leadership.
You don’t have to lead with the consciousness that someone will take you away from your leadership position. That is never a right mental attitude towards becoming an effective leader and leading right. Even when people are eyeing your position, if you lead them right, they will never care so much to take your position because they will come to find out you are committed to your position.

You don’t have to feel insecure for any reason. You may have experienced this act of betrayal in time past that soured your heart to ever believe someone else. No! We learn daily. We learn from good experiences, we learn from bad experiences. If you were ever betrayed in the time past, it is never a reason to be insecure. Gain the experience of any ugly occurrence but do not allow the ugly occurrence define you.
Insecurity is a deadly disease to leadership. There are great leaders whom their leadership came to an end in a hurry because they allowed insecurity to step in and it has spread through their hearts like cancer. They were unable to handled the state of their heart right which affected their leadership greatly and crippled their leadership. Insecurity has the capacity to make you quit when he or she is not ready to quit. But he or she has no option than to quit because the state of their heart cannot encourage them to proceed their leadership.
There is no better team than the team that understand the test of security in discharging their responsibilities without exhibiting grudges against one another
You have to cherish those surrounding you to accomplish your responsibilities as a leader. No matter how good your subordinates might be, you still have the glory. Be secured enough to understand no one can overshadow you. Understand that whatever effort your subordinates are putting in for the work, it is for the glory of the general team. They are ready for their effort to be appreciated by their leader. They will be downcast when it comes to their knowledge that their leader does not believe in them.
When insecurity steps in, it triggers so much controversy and troubles in the team. Insecurity is a threat to the peace and to the togetherness of the team. There is no better team than the team that understand the test of security in discharging their responsibilities without exhibiting grudges against one another. Insecurity can only tear apart and it can never repair.
Conclusion
When one finds him or herself in a leadership position, count it a priviledge and opportunity to elevate people by making them understand how much you love, value and cherish them. Fight insecurity in your heart with everything in your power. Insecurity has enough power to destroy one’s leadership.
