How to recognise those God called
15 – “Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
16 – Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
17 – That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 – The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 – And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 – Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 – Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 – And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 – Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.” (Ephesians chapter 1 verses 15 to 23)
- They are carrier of God’s glory.
“Do you not discern and understand that you [the whole church at Corinth] are God ‘s temple (His sanctuary), and that God ‘s Spirit has His permanent dwelling in you [to be at home in you, collectively as a church and also individually]?” (1Corianthians chapter 3 verses 16 AMP)
20 “Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams] – (AMP)
21 To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen (so be it).” (Ephesians chapter 3 verses 20 to 21 AMP)
2. They preach the truth and live it.
“Rather, let our lives lovingly express truth [in all things, speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly]. Enfolded in love, let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the Head, [even] Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).” (Ephesians 4 verses 15 AMP)
- God honours their word.
“That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:” (Isaiah chapter 44 verses 26)
He confirms their word with signs following.
4. They are humble and they do not seek their own glory.
30 – “For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
31 – Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” (1Corianthians chapter 10 verses 30 to 31)
- The fruits of the Holy Spirit is reigning in their lives.
22 – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 – Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” (Galatians chapter 5 verses 22 to 23)
- Lives are changed under their ministry.
“God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?” (Hebrews chapter 2 verses 4)
- They are always compassionate.
“Finally, all [of you] should be of one and the same mind (united in spirit), sympathizing [with one another], loving [each other] as brethren [of one household], compassionate and courteous (tenderhearted and humble).” (Peter 3 verses 8 AMP)
8. They keep watch over his flock through prayer.
2 – “To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 – We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
4 – Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
5 – For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;” (Colossians chapter 1 verses 2 to 5)
