Grow your faith
“And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” (Mathew chapter 17 verses 20)
When you hear grow your faith, what comes to your mind? To some it will be like what is he talking about? To some they will be asking, what does faith look like? To some they will be pondering in their heart how one can identify faith. Some persons keep wondering what it will cost one to take hold of faith before he or she will be able to grow it. Of course no one can grow what he or she does not see, touch or feel. But here we talk of the spirit.
Everything about the creation was done out of God’s faith
Yes, we talk of the spirit. Man is first a spirit being. He was never the physical being at first. You can’t get the real definition of a man, defining him from the physical. Every thing about man and his exercising dominion is made manifest in the spirit. Faith that is generated from the spirit does tremendous transformation and impact.
26 – “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 – So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 – And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Genesis chapter 1 verses 26 to 28)
We must understand man in God’s perspective of the spirit if we will stand to grow our individual faith. God made us in His image after His likeness. Everything about the creation was done out of God’s faith. God was able to deploy His faith, that brought changes and tremendous transformation and that caused the existence of a beautiful earth.
Man needs to put his faith at work
When God blessed man, He impacted faith in man. Man was born a faith being. That man is born a faith being is never enough. It requires man to grow his faith for it to perform. God’s faith is God’s faith, and that faith is for God Almighty. Never you assume that God’s faith will work for anyone. It is man’s faith that will work for him. If man fails to grow his faith, he might be limited in the things he can do.
Do not be deceived, when God created the physical man and breathed the breath of life in him, that is life of faith been deposited in the physical man.
“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (Genesis chapter 2 verses 7)
On that very juncture, He gave up creation for mankind. Why will God gave up creation for mankind? Man needs to put his faith at work. Man needs to exercise leadership. Man needs to exercise dominion. Man needs to be in charge. Man can only operate in the highest level by operating through faith.
You have the responsibility to grow your faith
“And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” (Mathew chapter 17 verses 20)
Jesus said, “… if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed…”
Let us look at faith as a grain of mustard seed. Faith as a seed needs to be planted for it to grow. You have the responsibility to grow your faith. How God grew His faith to the point of calling forth things that be not as though they were, it is amazing. Man was also given the opportunity and privilege to grow his faith to the point of being creative and bringing to place new innovations.
Faith without work is dead
Everything is possible to a man who operates by faith. Faith is a force. Since it is a force, you have to put your best to see it grow. If one’s faith is not growing, it should be dieing. Yes, people’s faith can actually be dead when it has no effect. Faith that cannot produce is dead. Faith without work is dead.
17 – “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 – Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19 – Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 – But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?” (James chapter 2 verses 17 to 20)
Conclusion:
The woman of the issue of blood grew her faith when she said to herself, if only I will touch the hem of His garment.
20 – “And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:
21 – For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
22 – But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.” (Mathew chapter 9 verses 20 to 22)
It is her faith that made her whole. Your faith will make you whole. It is in your power and it is your responsibility to grow your faith if your desire is to see your faith produce.
