God will work in you first

God is never in a hurry concerning a man or woman He will use to propagate His will here on earth. God is never confused at any point in time that He is randomly seeking for a man He will used. God can use anyone who devotes him or herself to pay the prize of following the principles of God and abiding in God’s word. Once there is someone who is available, God is always available.  Remember in the case of prophet Ezekiel, God said I sought for a man and I found none.

“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” (Ezekiel chapter 22 verses 30)

God can use anyone who devotes him or herself to pay the prize of following the principles of God and abiding in God’s word.

In the case of the scripture above, it is not that there was not enough men at that time, but there was none who made himself available for what the Lord God Almighty has proposed to do. There is need to understand the way God operates. God has a standard and process of doing things. God will first of all check an individual out before He checks the person in. That you knock on God’s door of being used does not mean God will open the door for you to pick up the huge responsibility for your purpose in life. Not at all. He will check you out with little responsibilities and in the process moulding the right character in you.

God’s way is beyond looking at the container. That is why He will first of all work on the container to make sure it has the capacity to retain the content that is about to be poured in it. If the container is not properly fixed and put in a good shape, it can waste the content of great value. Because God does not do little things that is why He is mindful about any vessel He is about to showcase.

That you knock on God’s door of being used does not mean God will open the door for you to pick up the huge responsibility for your purpose in life.

16 – No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.

17 – Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.” (Mathew chapter 9 verses 16 to 17)

I remember that fateful day our eldest son and I was going out. We decided to picked a container so that we get fuel for the generator on our way home. I searched for a particular can, now I saw one. It looked ok and we are good to go. When we done with what we went for, he drove into the fuel station and purchased fuel in the very container. I notice that immediately I lift the container that it was so flexible that I could not lay down in the car. I have to gently carried it on my arm until we got home. Once we got home, I quickly stepped out of the car and walked to the generator. I was about opening the generator cover with my right hand, holding the container by my left hand when I noticed that the container has started drifting. I have to call my brother to help open the generator which he did and I poured out the content as fast as possible, not from the original opening made for the container. The content over weighed the container that is what I am trying to say here. If what I experienced when we got home was experienced inside the car, that would have been a disaster if not the intervention of God. You can imagine when more than ten litres of fuel pour inside a car. Anything can happen.

God cannot pour Himself in an unfit vessel and He is never in a hurry for a vessel to use.

This is the reason why God cannot pour Himself in the vessel He has not work on to avoid been over weighed by the content. That is exactly what will happen when the vessel is not fit for the content. Dr David Ogbueli my father in the Lord said, “When God gave us Jesus,He gave us everything. When He gave us the HolySpirit, He gave Himself.” God cannot pour Himself in an unfit vessel and He is never in a hurry for a vessel to use.

1 – The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

2 – Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.

3 – Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.

4 – And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

5 – Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

6 – O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.” (Jeremiah chapter 18 verses 1  to 6)

Conclusion

God was once talking to prophet Jeremiah but today He speaks to you and I. If we will willingly submit and yield our totality to God, He will do the work of the potter in our lives and remove everything that needed to be removed for the transformation He is about to work through us.
