9 – “For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

10 – But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” (1Corianthians chapter 15 verses 9 to 10)

Even when he was not too sure about every decisions he made, he was after his father’s religion because he was born into it

If there is anyone in the lifetime whose greatest desires was to wipe away any trace of christianity from the surface of the earth that should be Paul. Of course he has been a religious man all his life and one of his mission mandate and goal is to see Jewish drives all over the earth. Even when he was not too sure about every decisions he made, he was after his father’s religion because he was born into it.

He was so zealous about whatever that concerns his father Jews but little did he know he was walking out of purpose. There is this space in heart that was yearning for fulfilment in serving his Maker. The need in his heart is what kept him crazy and was so passionate going about his father religion. In all he has done so far, he was not yet fulfilled because the empty space in his heart has not yet been filled.

You need to know that the track each individual is at any point in time has a way to build or undermine the person.

He wanted to live a life that is worthy of emulation. His greatest desire is that he will be the one who will drive the movement of Jewish religion. He was eager for this very fact that if this is one one thing he will be known for, he never mind to give everything he has acquired. When he goes about persecuting the body of Christ with the intention to glorify Judaism, little did he know the same movement he was fighting to eliminate was the same movement he was created to pilot.

With all his eager and zeal to be in the right track to fulfill purpose, he was walking out of purpose since he could not find the true meaning of life and living. It is beautiful for one to be eager and zealous about what he believes,  but how beautiful it is when one finds himself in the right track to fulfill destiny and purpose. You need to know that the track each individual is at any point in time has a way to build or undermine the person.

No one can be the best walking out of true purpose no matter how zealous he may be

No one can ever get fulfillment in life by wondering about the places as a man who does not have a bearing for his direction and destination. Life is all about discovering true purpose and to fulfill it. No one can be the best walking out of true purpose no matter how zealous he may be. True purpose is never one’s choice, it is one’s discovery. If you are eager to discover your true purpose, you have to be eager to get fulfilled.

On his way to Damascus to persecute the Christians as usual which the intention he was on track fulfilling purpose he received a shocking encounter that transformed his life and placed him on the right track to fulfill purpose. It was a turning point of his life which kept him humble all through the rest of his life. It was a significant moment in his life and the beginning of stepping into purpose to get it fulfilled.

Saul was the prosecutor of the Christian body and the killer of the saints

1 – “And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

2 – And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

3 – And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

4 – And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

5 – “Who are you, sir?” Saul asked. And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting!

6 – And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.” (Acts chapter 9 verses 1 to 6)

He obtained grace the very moment he had that encounter with Christ Jesus

This very encounter made him to change his name from Saul to Paul. Saul was the prosecutor of the Christian body and the killer of the saints. He led the troops that stoned Stephen to death and many more. Whenever he hears people call the name Saul, it reminds him of many things about his past. That is one of the reason he does away with it and pick up a new name Paul.

He obtained grace the very moment he had that encounter with Christ Jesus. He knew he had no reason to live after the Lord Jesus must have confronted him but He chose to let him live after what he had done to the body of Christ. He knew he was living under grace, and that is why he made up his mind that very grace he received from the Lord Jesus Christ is never in vain.

Conclusion

It was after the encounter,  he vowed to live his life to please the One that love him despite all he did trying to elude the movement of christianity, yet He gave him a reason to live. That reason to live was the very reason he lived to please Christ. He gave his best doing the work of the ministry. He was never made to be among the apostles, but his encounter with Christ gave him that opportunity and he never abused such awesome priviledge.  He gave it his best! Give it your best!
