Faith as a gift
- Faith is a fact:
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews chapter 11 verses 1)
It is based on evidence. It is based on the word of God, if not it is fake. It is based on scriptural realities and the promises of God. If the word of God does not substantiate it, then it is not faith.
- Faith is a law:
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” (Ephesians chapter 2 verses 8)
A law is a principle that works for everyone who puts it to work. Faith is a principle. Faith cannot fail. It is a universal principle.
“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” (Romans chapter 12 verses 3)
- Faith is a seed:
Faith grows when it is nurtured and exercised. It actually starts small then grows.
22 – And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
23 – And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.” (Mathew chapter 14 verses 22 to 23)
It has an ever increasing capacity for growth. There is no limit to the growth of faith. It depends on how well you nurtured and exercised it.
- Faith is a servant:
Faith is a servant of the believer.
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah chapter 55 verses 11)
Faith should go to work while we sit. Faith should work for the believer the same way money works for you.
- Faith is a shield:
Faith is an armour. It can quench any fiery darts of the enemy. It is indeed the believer’s bullet proof.
“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” (Ephesians chapter 6 verses 16)
