Embracing responsibility distinguishes an individual
“If embracing responsibility does not distinguish you, nothing else can.”
We were created by responsibility for responsibility. As diaspora here on earth, we live by embracing responsibility. Every breaking of the day is loaded with responsibilities that we have to embrace to make our world a better place than we met it. If we fail to embrace the necessary responsibilities that purpose is bringing our ways, we might live not making any significant difference.
As a science student during my days in the secondary, we were told and we read it that matter is any thing that has weight and occupy space. According to physics, man was defined as matter. That human definition towards man to accomplished a specific purpose. I am not disputing the fact whether man is a matter or not. All I am bringing to our knowledge is that man is beyond just being a matter. Man does not only live to occupy space. He lives to occupy a place of responsibility.
You live to occupy a place of responsibility
When God finished creating every other things, He created man with the full intention and purpose for man to be in charge of every thing created. Man does not only occupy, he was given the audacity to enforce rule on earth. Life is not about how big one is as to occupy much space as matter. Life is about how impacted one’s life is, and use his or her life to transform and make our world a better place.
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” (Genesis chapter 1 verses 6 KJV)
It is wise to you know and understand you are created for the betterment of our world. There was actually a vacuum that led to the call of your existence. Not just to occupy it, but to exercise and display the right attitude to beautify our world through reflecting God’s glory. You are on earth for a specific purpose, and you are made to live each day accomplishing that purpose. The purpose for which individual existed called for embracing responsibility.
You are a transformational agent
Every individual was created with a specific responsibility. In the book Mathew chapter 25 the bible made it obvious that our responsibilities was allocated to us according to our several ability.
14 – For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
15 – And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. ( Mathew chapter 25 verses 14 to 15 KJV)
Any responsibility you effectively accomplish will distinguish you. Nothing else was made to distinguish man rather than what he was able to finish. Some day none of us will be remembered by how long we lived, we will be remembered by how well and impartful we lived.
We are living in a lifetime. We have all witnessed the day of arrival, and before us await the day of departure. Definitely, everyone of us will exit this planet earth some day.
Then nothing will make sense again, our birthday will not; how beautiful or handsome one is will not; all the careers acquired will not; the degrees obtained will not; family riches will not; all the investments will not; buildings and car will not make sense any more.
But one thing gets to out live us and that is the responsibility each individual was able to accomplish. Someday, nobody will remember how long we live, but people will always remember how important we lived. Do that which is right, that will speak after you exit the earth.
Conclusion
Make sure you always find yourself in the place of responsibility. It is responsibility that gives meaning to life.
