Do not compromise your belief as a foreigner

1 – “After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him.

2 – And all the king’s servants, that were in the king’s gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.

3 – Then the king’s servants, which were in the king’s gate, said unto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king’s commandment?

4 – Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai’s matters would stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew.

5 – And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath.” (Esther chapter 3 verses 1 to 5)

It does not matter how good someone might be to you, he or she cannot take the place of God in one’s life.

When man plays to be god, remember there is only one true God in heaven that watches over the affairs of men. No matter what the conditions of things around you, you should understand the place of man in your life and you should as well know the place of God in your life that you should not take God’s glory to attribute it to man. It does not matter how good someone might be to you, he or she cannot take the place of God in one’s life. Do not compromise your belief because someone kindness towards you.

I do understand the fact that there is a way someone will encounter someone, and the person will to see that everything that bothers this very person, he or she takes them off this person shoulders. It is so critical when both of them did not know each other from Adam. They just walked into eachother and the other picked interest in the other as though they had met before then. Everything that is happening at that moment is amazing to this very person who never thought of such. To him or her it is a miracle. Yes I believe too it is a miracle. Once it is a miracle, it is beyond man’s control.

God have the universal authority and He does what pleases Him.

It is true that you must appreciate the vessel the Lord God Almighty uses to bless and transform your life but it can’t go beyond that. No one is ever made to reverence anyone. When God chose to perform His wonders in the life of anyone, He still uses men to accomplish such thought. The heart of the king is in the hands of God. God have the universal authority and He does what pleases Him.

“The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.” (Proverbs chapter 21 verses 1)

He understood to reverence man is idolatry. So he chose to keep himself pure in the midst of all odds.

Whatever that happens to you that resulted to a breakthrough, the glory should never be attributed to man but all glory should be attributed to God. You should appreciate the man or woman God used to bring such breakthrough into reality, but you should never share God’s glory with anyone. It is true that things might have been so rough that one does not know where the next meal will come from, yet it is God that provides. God is the greatest of all provider of all time.

When others bow down to reverence Haman, not because he had any impact in their lives, only because of position. The king has recognised him and that was why he seemed to take the place of God. When others reverence him, Mordecai knew that they have crossed the boundary. He understood the place of respect and as well understood the place to reverence God. He understood to reverence man is idolatry. So he chose to keep himself pure in the midst of all odds.

No one can exalt man in the place of God and still expect God to perform

One thing was obvious to everyone at that very moment, Mordecai made it clear to them why he should not reverence anyone. That is why when they were trying to convinced him to joined in the act, he refused to succumb. It was his faith that was put to test at the moment. He has two options before him at that moment, he can chose to reverence man and that takes God far away from the scene. Or he can choose reverence God and that brings God into the scene. Of course he chose to glorify God and that brought God into the scene.

“Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai’s matters would stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew.” (Esther chapter 3 verses 4)

Many have found themselves in such positions but they never lived to tell the story on how they compromised and the consequences that followed. No one can exalt man in the place of God and still expect God to perform. No, it is the one who is exalted that is expected to perform. Without doubt man is limited. Yes man is limited in the things he can do.

Conclusion:

You can live to make man to take God’s place in your life. Even in the strange land, you have to hold on to your faith never to give up on God, because God would not give up on you. When the going gets tough, always remember it is an injury time for God to step in. Let no man take God’s place in your life.
