Diligently mind your post
1 – “Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 – And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 – They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 – But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 – The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
6 – And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 – Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 – And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 – But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 – And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 – Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 – But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 – Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” (Mathew chapter 25 verses 1 to 13)
Flopping in the aspect of a goalkeeper can mess up the whole team
In a typical football match, there are eleven players that makes a team, and twenty four in the pitch of play. Each team are diligently mindful about their respective post. That is why no one can talk about the eleven players without the inclusion of a goalkeeper. Not just a goalkeeper, each team always desires the best for their goalkeepers.
Flopping in the aspect of a goalkeeper can mess up the whole team. When a goalkeeper is diligent in taking charge of his of her post, it has a way of increasing the morale of the rest of the team especially the defenders. The defenders may be flopped but that is never the expectation of any team because everyone understands that when the defenders are not good, it is a threat to the goalkeeper. Once the defenders mess up, a good striker can easily penetrate and score.
Though the other players might not be in their good form, yet no team will want to concede a goal
In all the flop of other players, the goalkeeper is a key figure in the team. Everyone especially the fan will be looking at the goalkeeper to show forth the stuff he or she is made up of. Everyone understands that the players are not playing as a team, which is a clue to her defeat but at this moment everyone expectations is on the post and the one manning the post. At that moment, the goalkeeper becomes the key figure and the hope of the fans.
Though the other players might not be in their good form, yet no team will want to concede a goal. You can see that when the goalkeeper begins to make some crucial saves, the fans will all focus on him or her and start cheering him or her up. The goalkeeper feels motivated when he or she finds out that the fans are happy with him or her, believe in him or her to deliver the team at that particular moment.
As good as every team desires good striker who can score, so they are mindful of the goalkeeper who can be able to stop the striker
It might be that the goalkeeper is not always at his or her best, but it was expected of him or her to be at his or her best especially when it comes to such a crucial match. In some cases, because of how crucial the match may be, the goalkeeper might have sustained injury in a previous match, yet the team will want him or her on the post. Yes, they need someone who will diligently mind the post. In most cases, such goalkeeper appears in the match after receiving some dose of pain killers.
Whoever mans the post is very important. As good as every team desires good strikers who can score, so they are mindful of the goalkeeper who can be able to stop the striker. There is always a standing ovation when the team did great to withstand the opponent, especially when people thought that the other team cannot make out any point from such match.
May we not be victims of them who will not diligently man the post till the end
So it is with the race to fulfill destiny. Everyone is given a post to man. You must be equipped and prepared for whatever that happens. Just as some matches can experience extra time, so it is in fulfilling destiny. In all this, we are expected to be ready for the extra time. No matter how long this will last, we should be ready to diligently man the post. If we fail to diligently mind the post, definitely one will conceive and that might not end well.
In the scripture above, five were diligently mindful of their post and five others were not. At the extra time, they lost strength and started given up. It was too late for them to start entertaining failure but they have no other option than to accept the fate that they don’t have what it takes to diligently man the post till the end. May we not be victims of them who will not diligently man the post till the end.
Conclusion
“But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” (Mathew chapter 24 verses 13)
It is an individual’s responsibility to endure till the end. No one can afford not to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and ability needed to sustain one to diligently mind the post till the end of one’s journey. May we be among those who are wise who will take up any opportunity to always man the post.
