Developing an attitude of discovering who you are.
”Discovering who you are is the clue to loving who you are.”
Singleness is a phase and a process in the human journey that God has designed for proper discovery of one’s personality. You cannot be me and I cannot be you. We are born equal with different responsibilities to accomplish. If you must stand out in life, there is need to have a clear picture of who you are. Discovering who you are will give you the clue of the responsibilities you are created to accomplish.
‘And God said,
“Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Genesis 1:26 KJV)
Until you discover who you are, you cannot make an inch of significant difference. The stage of singleness is that stage God shaped for every individual to take drastic decisions that will shape our lives into the right path to fulfill destiny.
Discover who you are
Until you discover who you are, you cannot appreciate who you are. Of course, that means you will not appreciate who are going to become. The first step towards becoming a better you, begins with the discovery of who you are.
Until you discover who you are, you cannot create the beautiful future you want to see. Obviously, you and I were created in the image and likeness of the Supreme God. The breath and the attitude of God’s greatness run in every man.
The first law of singleness states that until an individual discovers who he is, he cannot live the life that he is meant to live. In Genesis 1:26 God said and let them have dominion.
Do not waste the days of your singleness.
Why would God think about creating them that they may have dominion, yet when it was time to form man, He formed only man first. That tells us something about God. All God wanted was for man to see himself as the God of the earth. Until man discovered the hidden truth about himself and started operating in the realm as the controller, God never thought of providing a help mate. The provision of a help mate came as a result of man harnessing his singleness effectively and efficiently working towards fulfilling God’s original purpose for him. It is in your responsibility to harness the days of your singleness.
Do not waste the days of your singleness. It is the days of investing in oneself starting with discovering who you are and what you can accomplish. God set aside such a peculiar stage for every individual to discover and develop oneself to turn out the best in life. To many, the days of singleness is a boring one. Little do they know that such days were designed for embracing the necessary responsibilities that will propel us into fulfilling destiny.
Many have a wrong perspective about singleness. They define the days of singleness as the days of loneliness. I can boldly tell you that is false. It is the days of digging deep into discovering oneself and what our daily pursuit should be like towards accomplished our courses in life.
Reason:
1. You are the best created.
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:”
(Gen1 verse 26a KJV)
You have no reason to think yourself less. You are designed, fashioned and made by the great God Almighty, and created in the image after God’s likeness, made you great. You don’t need man’s approval for you to be great. You are designed great. You are fashioned great. You are made great.
2. You are created to be in charge.
“… and let them have dominion…” (Gen1 verse 26b KJV)
For the fact that you made it to this planet earth, you are ever created to exercise dominion. You are an answered prayer to exercise dominion. Anything less than exercising dominion, is never in God’s plan concerning you. You are designed to be in charge. You are fashioned to be in charge. You are made to be in charge and you will live to exercise your full dominion.
3. You are a perfect product of God’s pleasure.
“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.” (Ephesians 1 verse 4 KJV)
It is wise to know that God did not create mankind less than He is. As God Almighty is, so are we in the world. God poured out the best of the very best creating man. God created man in view he will be in charge of the planet earth. Man is a divine project in God’s hands and it took God so much pleasure to bring man into the scene. You are designed in God’s pleasure. You are fashioned in God’s pleasure. You are made in God’s pleasure and you will live to bring pleasure to God.
4. Everything about God was bestowed in you.
“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (Genesis 2 verse 7 KJV)
It is so interesting to realise that we are breathing God’s breath. It was God’s breath into the physical man that brought life into man. When God breath into man, He breathed Himself. When God breathed into man, He breathed everything. As He is, so are you and I in the earth. As great as God is, so great are we in the earth.
5. You are a god.
“I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.” (Psalms 82 verse 6 KJV)
We are god on earth. We cannot be created by the great God, and we are not god. That cannot be possible. A lion can only give birth to a lion. Anything less than that is never acceptable. God made us to be in charge on the earth just as He is in charged in heaven. It only takes a God to be in charge.
