Develop the habit of being teachable
“Teachability is an attitude which tends towards the desire to listen, learn and apply.”
“Teachability is the hunger to learn, the willingness to grow and finish strong.”
The earth is revolving. There is nothing new under the sun. king Solomon said,
“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 1:9.)
Generations have come and gone, they left beautiful foot prints that are remarkable. Some of the facilities that made the world a beautiful place for us to feel more comfortable is as a result of the legacy of those who have been before us. No matter what your responsibility may be, someone at the time past, even now is treading the same path you are about to tread to accomplish it.
If you are not teachable, you can’t know the right path to finish great
People have been where you are about to go. People have visited where you are about to visit. Whatever challenge you are to encounter, people who have tread that very path have encountered such challenges and conquered. It will do you good if you can go to the drawing board and acquire the knowledge on how they were able to conquer.
It does not matter how talented or skillful you are, you need to be teachable. If you are not teachable, you can’t know the right path to finish great. Never you think you know it all, if not you will stuck on the path to fulfill your responsibility. Teachability should be an attitude everyone who wants to make a difference in life should deliberately cultivate.
Learning should be a life style.
When you stop learning, you stop growing; when you stop growing, you will be stock on the path to fulfill your responsibility. As long as you are teachable and you keep learning, nothing will get you stuck. You expand your knowledge and ability to do more when you keep striving to learn more. Knowledge opens your mind. A person who is less talented and skillful with teachability will accomplish more to a highly talented and skillful person with non teachability.
The strongest candidate ever is the one with teachable ability. No matter how gifted and talented you are, without having a teachable spirit, is a matter of time you will be hooked. Knowledge is power. Extra ordinary people are people of teachability. People who have accomplished great exploits and finished strong in every endeavor, are people with highly teachability ability. You will go as far as your knowledge can take you in accomplishing your responsibility. Paul said to Timothy,
“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
No matter how gifted and talented you are, without having a teachable spirit, is a matter of time you will be hooked.
Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
“Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.” (1Timothy chapter 4 verses 12-16.)
Being gifted or talented cannot help you if you are not teachable. Teachability is not optional, is a compulsory attitude for everyone who wants to make a difference in this generation.
People who have accomplished great exploits and finished strong in every endeavor, are people with highly teachability ability

If you cannot be teachable, having talent won’t help you.
If you cannot be flexible, having a goal won’t help you.
If you cannot be grateful, having abundance won’t help you.
If you cannot be mentorable, having a future won’t help you.
If you cannot be durable, having a plan won’t help you.
If you cannot be reachable, having success won’t help you.
Conclusion
You have to be teachable if your desire is to make it great in life. No one is an island in this planet. People have experienced what you are about to experience. Simply follow their leading and you will avail yourself of much trauma and arrive to your destination in peace.
