Christ’s redemption for man
Why we talk about redemption is because there is a falling away in the part of man. Man’s disobedience to God Almighty and his obedience to the devil caused him to completely fall away from the plan of God to reflect God’s glory at that moment. Everything crumbled and nothing seemed to be working out. Everything was brought into obscurity
Devil did not have anything good at his disposal. He caused man to go against God so that man can be in the same torment with him. Devil understood that God is a just God and will never entertain any form of treason. Man listening to the devil was the worst of it all. You cannot be wine and dine with an enemy to the family and think you are safe.
Man listening to the devil was the worst of it all
The shocking news to the devil was that God did not placed man kind into eternal damnation just as he the devil was placed. The fall of man never made God to decide to be away from man for ever. The fall of man never deterred God from thinking about His plans for man. God’s plan for humanity was still in sight despite the fact that man has rebelled against Him.
In the state of sin, retardation and total confusion God thought about the salvation of man. Isaiah chapter 6 verses 8 says,
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”
God proceeded with the plan to redeem man and for that to be possible and effective, God became a man in flesh called Jesus Christ.
1 – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 – He was in the beginning with God.
3 – All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 – In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 – And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 – There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 – The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 – He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 – That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 – He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 – Even in his own land and among his own people, he was not accepted.
12 – But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 – Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 – And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Then Jesus faced the most shameful death on the cross to redeem man
6 – Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 – But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 – And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (Philippians chapter 2 verses 6 to 8)
The blood the Christ Jesus shed on the cross washed away our sin and brought us forgiveness.
“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” (John chapter 2 verses 29)
“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;” (Ephesians chapter 1 verses 7)
Jesus brought us back to God and placed us in charge again.
“But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.” (Ephesians chapter 2 verses 13)
Conclusion
In resurrection, Jesus became the life giving Spirit to man kind, and breathed into man the breath of life.
“And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:” (John chapter 20 verses 22)
