Becoming the servant leader
God was intentional about creating man with the heart of service
Becoming a servant leader is a deliberate and intentional act. Becoming a servant leader calls for a price. The servant leader is never just a leader, he or she has to undergo some processes that have to enter him or her that will make him or her a true servant leader. You must be a servant in service indeed if you must become a servant leader. It is one understanding and commitment to serve that stirs up the spirit of service in him or her.
We are born with a heart of service. But it is an individual’s responsibility to stir up that spirit of service within him or her. You are born to serve and let this get into you. God created every individual with the heart to serve. God was intentional about creating man with the heart of service. The primary reason man came into existence was to serve. Anything that eludes man from service does not project the will of God towards man.
You can’t be born to serve and you are seeking for someone to start asking you to serve
26 – “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 – So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 – And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Genesis chapter 1 verses 26 to 28)
No one is asking you to become a servant. Nobody is asking you to serve. Nobody is demanding for your services. You are born a servant. You are born to serve. It is in you. Service is not what you are trying to become, it is who you are by birth. You can’t be born to serve and you are seeking for someone to start asking you to serve. That is an error. I know what is going through your heart that this young man sounds hard. It does not matter how hard I might be, the point I am trying to make is that service should be your interest. Get yourself into service.
Until you yield your heart into service effectively, you cannot become an effective servant
Do not be deceived, no one can become an effective servant leader who is not first an effective servant. That you are born with the heart of service is never enough, you must yield your heart into service to be able to stir up the true heart of service. Until you yield your heart into service effectively, you cannot become an effective servant.
“Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” (Luke chapter 22 verses 42)
It is in stirring up the spirit of service in you that you become an effective servant leader
You must be willing to lay down you will for the Will of God to prevail over your life. No one can become an effective servant leader who does not first become a person of service. You can’t become a servant leader without yielding your life and will completely to the Lordship of our Lord and Master Jesus Christ. You must be willing to stir up the spirit of service in you. It is in stirring up the spirit of service in you that you become an effective servant leader.
7 – “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 – For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.” (Galatians chapter 6 verses 7 to 8)
A servant leader is someone who understands and he or she is actively involved in the service of people, bringing them in the right path to fulfilling purpose
No one can become an effective servant leader who by playing sentiment in the place of service. Those who play sentiment in the place of service, end up becoming q fake leader. This ones cannot be traced to be a servant leader looking at the service they render. The proof of a servant leader can be traced to the service he or she render. Becoming a servant leader is never a titleship, it is a calling. If becoming a servant leader is a calling, it is also an honour.
It is the seed of service you were able to render that will germinate in the process of making one to become servant leader. When you see a servant leader, you have seen a servant leader. A servant leader is someone who understands and he or she is actively involved in the service of people, bringing them in the right path to fulfilling purpose. A servant leader is the one who lives the life he or she has long accumulated in the place of service and now ready to lead people through the same path for them to become better.
Conclusion:
Do not take whatever responsibility given to you lightly. It is moulding you if you will diligently live yourself into it. No one becomes a servant leader who was not first a person of responsibility. A servant leader is a responsible leader. The church and the world at large is crying for servant leaders.
