Adding value to people life
14 – “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 – Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 – Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Mathew chapter 5 verses 14 to 16)
“Service can take you where certificate cannot take you,” Dr David Ogbueli
“One’s responsibility is based on adding value to people.”
I will not go in detail to start telling you why you should embrace yourself, but the most important reason is that you can really appreciate who you are thereby stir up the hidden potential in you and add value in the life of those who come in contact with you. You are living for a responsibility, and that responsibility is to add value in the lives of the people around that will some day embrace the responsibility to transform our world through impacting lives. It is quite unfortunate that people think adding value is only made for those in leadership position. That is not true. The best of our world lies in individual contributions. If we depend only on those in authority to add value in people, this world would be such a boring place. Notwithstanding, everybody is born to take charge of his place of endeavor and add sufficient values.
And God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness and let them have dominion…” (Genesis chapter 1 verses 26A)
It is obvious that God made us in His image after His likeness so that we will add value on earth. Your responsibility as a living being, is to make our world a better place than the way we met it. And that starts with adding value in people life. Adding quality value is the reason we are called and it’s also the reason we live. We are not here for ourselves, we are here for others. You do not exist for yourself alone. Honestly I believe the fact you have to take time to cultivate the value in you. of course you can’t give what you do not have. Where the challenge lies is that after cultivating these values, will effectively discharge them to people. You existed for a course, and your responsibility is to add value.
Adding quality value is the reason we are called and it’s also the reason we live.
As I earlier said is what you have you will give out. True and genuine value come from the sincere heart. There is no one who adds value to people which does not from the deepest part of his heart. Adding value is a heart business. Yes is a matter of the heart. Healthy heart discharges healthy value; unhealthy heart discharges unhealthy value. In other word, unhealthy heart is hypocrites. The wisest man who ever lived king Solomon advised:
“Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are issues of life.” (Proverbs chapter 4 verses 23)
The state of one’s heart is very important in discharging one’s responsibility. For how they impact others solidly depends on it. We are created to serve. We are redeemed to serve. Your question may be redeem serve what? We are redeemed to serve people of course. Life does not count when you serve oneself; life counts when you serve the best interest of those God is bringing your way. Adding value in people makes you a leader. You are not living to focus on power and appearance, but to focus on the need to help people become the best they can be.
Conclusion:
To effectively discharge your responsibility in adding value in people, you must first of all embrace yourself, love who you are and the way God made you.
