The foolishness of sin

1 – “And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.

2 – And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

3 – And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.

4 – And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

5 – But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

6 – And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

7 – If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

8 – And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

9 – And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?

10 – And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.

11 – And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand;

12 – When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.” (Genesis chapter 4 verses 1 to 12)

There is no best without the best results

Two brothers went to offer to God sacrifice, God had respect for one and did not have respect for the offering of the other. Cain picked offence because his offering was not accepted by God. Yet, he did not go further to ask what it is that he did not do right that warranted his offering not been acceptable in God’s sight. He got furious at the whole process that he failed to realise that it was actually his fault that his offering was not accepted.

When one fails to see him or herself in the picture when things go wrong, he or she is bound to to repeat the same mistake. Everyone in the team is right when things go right. Everyone in the team is wrong when things go wrong. This is the mindset we have to put on if we will not give room for sin to thrive. How will you think you have done your best when there is no proof of things going right. Your best should show in the picture if you had actually done your best. There is no best without the best results.

Sometimes, many became victims of their own disobedience that they begin to regret living.

To the amazement of it all, when Cain grew furious and bitter about the whole scenario, God had to show up by Himself. God asked him, “Why are you wrath?” He failed to give God the right answer. God went ahead to explain to him where he did not get it right. He should have asked for an opportunity to make it right, and I can tell you God would have granted him such opportunity. His bitterness was so obvious that God had to warned him about the sin standing at the door.

It is a foolishness to repeat a mistake. That is the foolishness of sin. When one is warned about a particular sin, he or she goes ahead doing it. Sometimes, many became victims of their own disobedience that they begin to regret living. They began to wish that rewinding the hand of clock could be possible. Nothing at that moment could make sense to them to deliver them from the misfortune they found themselves into.

You can’t cut someone’s life short, and think you should enjoy the rest of your life.

The foolishness of sin is when one is warned of the sin that is standing on the door, yet he or she allows such sin to step in.  Cain allowed the thought to eliminate his brother to saturate his heart. The foolishness of sin is when one allows debauched and evil thoughts to saturate his or heart, and start springing up.  Cain had the guts to lift up his hands and kill his brother Abel. What an abomination!

The foolishness of sin is when someone thinks that after eliminating a fellow human being that he or she will be free. Whatever evil anyone is doing, he or she  is sowing a seed that will germinate some day and bring forth much. The harvest is always plenty. Cain’s harvest was much after he killed Abel. The foolishness of sin, Cain never experienced the joy of life and living after he killed Abel. You can’t cut someone’s life short, and think you should enjoy the rest of your life. That is never possible. That is why abortion is a serious matter in the spiritual realm. That is a destiny that has been terminated.

Conclusion:

The foolishness of sin is that the later days of Cain was so terrible that he was sure that he could not bear it. You have to stop that sin before it steps in to stop you. Sin steps in to elude one from fulfilling his or her true purpose. When sin stands at the door, it is your responsibility to kick it off the way. Don’t keep it standing for too long. It might strive to gain access.
