Vanity of vanities

1 – “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

2 – While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:

3 – In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,

4 – And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;

5 – Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:

6 – Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.

7 – Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

8 – Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.” (Ecclesiastes chapter 12 verses 1 to 8)

You cannot exist on this planet earth without the full permission of the Trinity.

When I read through the verses of the scriptures above, it dawned on me that at every second, minutes and hour of the day we have to have a reflection on the journey of destiny, the process and the conclusion of it. We are created by purpose for responsibility. To witness the journey of destiny fulfillment is a great priviledge God Almighty had provided to every living soul. You cannot exist on this planet earth without the full permission of the Trinity.

Something is critical about the writer and how he began his write up on this very chapter. When someone as the wisest man who ever lived is pointing at a particular place, we have to take that serious. He was not writing out of guess work, he was writing from statistics. He was a living testimony about what he was writing about. When he said the goal of everyone is to know God when he or she is still young.

Everything about life is to have a cordial relationship and alignment with God

Life is in stages. No one remains at a particular stage for ever. As we grow older our strength diminishes. The strength of each individual is at his or her youthful stage. If king Solomon did not know the Lord God Almighty at his younger age, his life would have been a complete mess. It was the knowledge of the Lord God Almighty he had that helped him all through his life time.

When life is making sense we have to make sure we have God by our side. The writer obviously made it known that there is no true meaning of life without God. There is no meaning success of life without God. There is not great achievement in life without God. Everything about life is to have a cordial relationship and alignment with God. Failure to observe a concrete alignment with God can result to a casualty and disaster.

No one can reflect God’s glory who does not have a proper alignment God.

Everything that contributes to the pleasure of life will some day not make sense. Everything we are clamouring for will not really be relevant. We came into the planet earth with nothing and we will as well depart this earth without anything. It is not about what one is able to acquire, it is about what impact one is able to contribute to make life beautiful. In knowing God and having a genuine relationship with God Almighty will help keep anyone on track to fulfilling purpose and making life beautiful.

The worth of everyone will not be measured by the possession he or she has. The worth of anyone will be measured by the transformation we brought to make the earth more beautiful than we meet it. It only takes men and women who know their God to live to transform their society. The whole duty of anyone is have a cordial relationship with God Almighty and to live to reflect God’s glory in a man. No one can reflect God’s glory who does not have a proper alignment God.

Everything about life leverage on the glory of God.

All the achievements to impact one’s life without having any significant impact in the life of others and the society at large, is an abuse of purpose. Our main reason for living is God. As we proceed with the affairs of life, it is expected that God will be revealed. At the end of everyone journey on earth, God will be glorified. We can’t say we have fulfilled purpose without God being glorified. Everything about life leverage on the glory of God. Anything in life that does not lead to the glory of God, is not worth it.

Conclusion:

Life is vanity without God. You can only find the fulfilment of life when you have a solid relationship with God. When you discover God, you discover yourself. When you discover yourself, you discover purpose. When you live to accomplish purpose, you become fulfilled. Vanity of vanities said the preacher all is vanity. Everything one is pursuing will all fade away some day. The only thing that will count is an individual’s time with God and the life we were able to touch.
