Why God gave us work

“Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.” (Psalms chapter 104 verses 23)

One needs to have the conviction that life becomes beautiful when one realises that work is part of life and the only way to transform oneself and the society at large.

As I ponder on this very topic to draw out the true benefits of one embracing fully the principles of work with a better understanding that he or she will never dies in the process rather he or she will turn out better and more experienced to run the course of destiny to its fulfillment. One needs to have the conviction that life becomes beautiful when one realises that work is part of life and the only way to transform oneself and the society at large.

As I dig deep into this very topic something popped into my mind that happens in recent times. We are still experiencing the raining season at the moment when people believe we should have been approached by the dry season. My wife noticed that there were more ants parading some particular corner in the house. That drew much concern as it irritates her. Of course she quickly drew my attention to that.

My concern on this was the eagerness of those ants embracing their works knowing full well they have to take the responsibility to work for the food that will sustain them for the season to come.

I finally got a flit and fumigated the whole house as we stopped the parading of ants in the house as if they are the security agency.  But in the next twenty four hours, my wife was shocked when she walked into the kitchen only to see a constructive line path by the ants dragging dead cockroaches. She could not stand it at that when she quickly called my attention to it that the ants are still here.

I told to her to let the ants be, they are working on a time frame of season. This is the ants season to gather as much food as they can because very soon the season will not be favorable with them. Then they will all go into hinding. My concern on this was the eagerness of those ants embracing their works knowing full well they have to take the responsibility to work for the food that will sustain them for the season to come.

I believe humanity have no excuse why we should not embrace every act of responsibility to make things right.

How brilliant were these ant was what kept ringing my mind as I ponder on their activities. I understand the fact that I fleet the whole house but I do not understand the fact that those ants will surface in the next twenty four hours. To my thought I believe they would relocate their activities some where else for the ones that survived. It dawned on me that these ants understand their place of work and they have no room for excuse.

Honestly I began to have this thought within me, if ants as little as they are understood commitment in work, how about humanity who are created with wisdom and understanding.  If ants has no room to entertain excuses knowing full well what will befall them if they fail to gather as much food as possible now they have the opportunity. I believe humanity have no excuse why we should not embrace every act of responsibility to make things right.

He will provide you some work or he will refer you somewhere.

King David the father of the wisest man who ever lived said that man should go out for his work and to his labour till evening. In essence, he is saying that work is part of everyone. That no one can take away work from man. Man needs to embrace work as part of him or herself. The only guarantee to fulfilment in life is that man must know his place to and for work. Anyone who miss out in work, is likely to miss out being relevant.

People who said they have no work are never saying the truth. There is a work for everyone out there. If you have a genuine relationship with our Lord and Master Jesus, you should know that there is work for the kingdom purpose for anyone. Every child of God came into the scene for a particular work. King David said, it is a crime for one to live without doing anything. So never you sit at home doing nothing. You have to go out, there is a work for you. Go out, walk to any workshop and talk to the oga there that you want to work that you are tired staying at home. Of course, he will provide you some work or he will refer you somewhere.

“Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” (John chapter 4 verses 34)

  1. It puts food on our table.

“In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.” (Proverbs chapter 14 verses 23)

  1. It is for us to fulfill God’s purpose for our live here on earth.

“But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” (1Corianthians chapter 15 verses 10)

  1. It is to exercise dominion on earth.

Conclusion:

No one can emerge to anything significant who is not a person who cherish work. God wants us to become better and to be better that is why He introduced work. If God had done all things, we would have nothing to work for. Of course, living would have make much sense. You have to embrace responsibility that life throws at you and make the best out of it.
