Dealing with lukewarmness
“Therefore I counsel you to purchase from Me gold refined and tested by fire, that you may be [truly] wealthy, and white clothes to clothe you and to keep the shame of your nudity from being seen, and salve to put on your eyes, that you may see. (Revelation chapter 3 verses 18 AMP)
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah chapter 40 verses 31)
19 – “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 – But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 – If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.”
(2Timothy chapter 2 verses 19 to 21)
Be responsible for your destiny and its fulfillment.
We will kick off with this very subject with looking at the definition of Lukewarmness. What then is Lukewarmness? It is actually a state of being tepid or moderately warm rather than being cold or hot. In other words, it’s a frustrating situation because it defies purpose. No one stays on the fence of destiny and be thinking he or she is fulfilling destiny. It is either you are in or you are out. You can’t stand firm on the fence and still be thinking you are in. Be responsible for your destiny and its fulfillment.
The Subject of lukewarmness in our Christian faith today is very essential due to its subtle way of making certain believers have a false sense of satisfaction. It is often said in the words of the late Dr Myles Munroe that “When purpose is unknown, abuse is inevitable.”
“So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” (Revelation chapter 3 verses 16)
In the above Scripture we see that God is angry at lukewarmness because when someone is lukewarm, he or she has not taken a stand of conviction as far as the righteous standards of God are concerned, something very rampant in our Christian circles today. Some Christian believers cannot comfortably declare their Faith open because they are still living having a foot in Zion and the other in Egypt.
You can’t continue to live your life in expense of who to blame
When Mankind fell from Glory, the Lord God Almighty went to his original place but couldn’t find Adam. He called the man to know where he was, but he answered Him from a place of defeat when he discovered he was naked. He answered from the place of been complete confused.
8 – “And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
9 – And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 – And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.” (Genesis chapter 3 verses 8 to 10)
For a Christian believer to live like an unbeliever means living in uncertainty, which is a dangerous place to be. That is the worst state of life any believer can ever live when a believer lives like an unbeliever. That is a dangerous path to treck on when a believer starts behaving and acting like an unbeliever. You can’t continue to live your life in expense of who to blame. That is as old as the garden of Eden. Adam tried it and it never worked to his favour.
Conclusion:
“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” (Mathew chapter 7 verses 20)
When a believer starts living as an unbeliever, It shows that he or she has not made up one’s mind to live for Christ and His purpose. Indeed, to live in Christ is to live in Life, but outside of Him lies only death. Every tree bears fruit according to its own nature, and it is by the fruit that we can know the tree that produced it.
