6 Reasons why few were chosen
“For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Mathew chapter 22 verses 14)
We have to dig deep to fully understand why few were chosen. If few were chosen that means many were not chosen. I want to be among the chosen, and I believe so are you. There is a reason why those who were chosen were chosen. There were not chosen on the basic of sentiment. God is never a man that He would lie. Every thing in the kingdom runs on principle.
1. The few understand it was a priviledge that they were chosen.
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” (John chapter 15 verses 16)
2. They understand it was an opportunity to announce themselves:
14 – “For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
15 – And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.” (Mathew chapter 25 verses 14 to 15)
3. They understand they have to give their best:
12 – “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
13 – Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 – I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians chapter 3 verses 12 to 14)
4. They understand they are made for such responsibility:
28 – “Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.
29 – Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” (Proverbs chapter 22 verses 28 to 29)
5. They understand they have to labour more than others:
9 – “For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 – But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” (1Corianthians chapter 15 verses 9 to 10)
6. They understand they have to make their master proud.
20 – “And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
21 – His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” (Mathew chapter 25 verses 20 to 21)
Conclusion:
It is individual’s responsibility to prove oneself effective and efficient in any given responsibility. No one will be promoted on another person’s account. If you must be chosen and promoted, you must be ready to work for it.
