Discovery your true identity
When you do not know your true identity, the devil gives you a fake identity. There is what is called a photocopy of identity. It might looked like the original but it is never the original. It is not the true identity, it can’t be the true identity. God said for you are my people who are called by my name that you may show forth the praises of He whom has sent you.
“Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.” (Isaiah chapter 43 verses 7)
The bible made it clear that we are Christ’s.
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” (1Peter chapter 2 verses 9)
The book of Genesis talked about man.
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” (Genesis chapter 1 verses 26)
God said and I paraphrase in my own understanding, ‘Let us make man and give him an identity like us. This simply means making man in God’s identity. It is worthy of note that God’s identity is the image of God.
There are times when you are not even sure who you are or what you are. It is the lie of the devil. He goes around making mockery of the very thing God created and gave dominion. When we let his lies sink in, he becomes a virus. Quickly corrupting everything God has placed in you to have dominion, then the questioning starts .
“Am I truly…? “Did God truly say that?”
You start second guessing and then inferi9complext sets in.
Your identity is part of your dominion. Whatever takes your identity has won you over. Christ died and gave us the priviledge of heavenly royalty. He was exalted far above everything and He was seated at the right hand of God with us there too beside Him.
The worst thing as a Christian is to forget who you are. Your identity is in Christ and not on what the world has developed. Giving yourself up to pressure will break you. We are all God’s! Big or small, plus sizd, average or thin, tall or short, whole or black, no matter the nationality or ethnicity, we are God’s and the earlier we deal with this identity issues in our lives, the better for us. Do not let the Caterpillar spoil the vine.
Conclusion
We have a true identity in Christ that died and rose for our victory. And we are complete in Him for He is the head of all principalities and power.
“And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:” (Colosians chapter 2 verses 10)
