Living and maintaining a life of purity

You must be saved to maintain purity

7 – “I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.

8 – I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.

9 – BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

10 – With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

11 – Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm chapter 119 verses 7 to 11)

The scripture shows us that it is possible to be pure if you desire. Purity as it sounds is not far fetched. It is attainable. Considering how disadvantaged you are at the mercy of the devil, his demands, why not switch to the source that sustains and only requires you whole heartedly accept His love towards you. It is never about individual’s love, it is all about God’s love towards humanity.

You cannot completely walk in purity without knowing Christ as your personal Saviour

You must be saved to maintain purity. It is not by the works of righteousness but by His grace alone. You cannot completely walk in purity without knowing Christ as your personal Saviour.  Life will just keep happening to you. Have you asked yourself why whenever you pray to be free of temptation it comes with its kingsman and you are not succumbed. It is because God has supplied grace for that particular situation and when you have the spirit of God in you, you will constantly receive help from above.

You have to have the word of God in your heart on a daily basis.

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm chapter 119 verses 11)

The spirit through the word reminds you what to do and gives clear instructions.

There is need for a personal genuine effort to be pure.

3 “For this is the will of God, that you should be consecrated (separated and set apart for pure and holy living): that you should abstain and shrink from all sexual vice,

4 That each one of you should know how to possess (control, manage) his own body in consecration (purity, separated from things profane) and honor,

5 Not [to be used] in the passion of lust like the heathen, who are ignorant of the true God and have no knowledge of His will,

6 That no man transgress and overreach his brother and defraud him in this matter or defraud his brother in business. For the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we have already warned you solemnly and told you plainly.

7 “For God has not called us to impurity but to consecration [to dedicate ourselves to the most thorough purity].

8 Therefore whoever disregards (sets aside and rejects this) disregards not man but God, Whose [very] Spirit [Whom] He gives to you is holy (chaste, pure).” (1Thessalonians chapter 4 verses 3 to 8 AMP)

God has called us to purity. Be ye perfect for God is perfect. And He made us in His image after His likeness.

“Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” (Mathew chapter 5 verses 48)

Consciously decide that the word of God will be your watchword if you set it as a standard before you, it would not be so hard.

Clothered in God’s glory, glowing and shinning and then sin came and everything left leaving them uncovered.

Frankly, purity is to separate one self totally from any kind of deception. It may be hard not to be able to do what your peers are doing. Talk like them or even dress like them. But arm yourself with the knowledge that you are bought with a price and not everyth6is permitted. Yes, it may cost you friends or your social life but the final reward is priceless.

Purity puts a special glow on a person that worldly maintenance can’t.  Purity quarantine you from contamination.  Without holiness no man can see God, your life was borrowed and its use will be accounted for.

“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:” (Hebrews  chapter 12 verses 14)

Have you wondered how Adam and Eve were just naked in the garden of Eden? It was recently that my eyes opened to the fact that they were covered in God’s glory. They were like light. No! You can’t see their private parts. Clothered in God’s glory, glowing and shinning and then sin came and everything left leaving them uncovered.

Conclusion:

14 “[Live] as children of obedience [to God]; do not conform yourselves to the evil desires [that governed you] in your former ignorance [when you did not know the requirements of the Gospel].

15 But as the One Who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all your conduct and manner of living.

16 For it is written, You shall be holy, for I am holy.” (1Peter chapter 1 verses 14 to 16 AMP)

In this analogy we can see that purity is a beautiful cloak of glory around anyone that has set him or herself apart. May God help us in our journey to fulfill  purpose thereby reflecting God’s glory in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
