5 important qualities about developing a heart to serve
- Demonstrate love in service:
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the same, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews chapter 12 verses 2)
You have to develop joy in adding smile on the face of those around you, as we look up to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. I heard my father in the Lord Dr David Ogbueli says it without number how he often prays for us his members. He always organized leaders and workers meeting whenever he is in town. Leader’s and worker’s meeting with him ends up leaving everyone better. He educates, teaching, discipline, mentoring and modeling us through the fashion of Christ Jesus. That is Jesus kind of serve demonstrated through an act of love.
- Demonstrate fun to serve others:
26 “But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;”
27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” (Mathew chapter 20 verses 26 to 28)
Those with the heart to serve never fill intimidated to serve others. They are always secure enough to render quality service to humanity. They are not so mindful about their position or their standard to render service. All they care is to add value to those around them. Believe when I say you have nothing to lose when you render quality services. But you have everything to gain at last. Add a smile on someone face and you will add more smiles on your face. Is a thing of joy when those around you are happy for the service you were able to render to them.
- Initiate acts of service:
4 “He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
5 After that he poureth water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.” (John chapter 13 verses 4 to 5)
You can’t be around people not looking forth to add value in their lives. People with the heart to serve initiate an opportunity to serve when they did not find one. They always make any opportunity count. They are aware that is a way to link, get connected with people, impart their lives and leave them better and happier.
- Understand the joy of service:
This is one thing everyone is living for and the only thing that will count at last, the quality service we were able to render. We will be remember by what we have done. Is right time to understand we are not living for our own sake but for the sake of others. I am not saying is not good to effectively serve oneself. Those with the heart of serve understand they can’t praise themselves much. Is not about how much they stand before multitude of people talking about themselves that matters, is what the people will say about them that matters. Jesus asked his disciples,
“When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” (Mathew chapter 16 verses 18)
The Joy of living is when people keep talking good about the service and value you added in their lives.
- Understand what it worth’s to live a blessed life:
“Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” (John chapter 4 verses 34)
The truth is that one of the greatest ways to get blessed is by rendering service. Everything wouldn’t go smooth for them, yet they keep holding on to their belief and remain focus. If you want to make the greatest possible impart in this life, live a blessed life. Always embrace the mindset to invest on others. Let your heart be large enough to value those who come in contact with you and seek to add value in them.
Conclusion:
Strive to keep your motive pure in any service you render and you will make a positive impart; thereby living a blessed life. Yours is to impart life and God will perfect it. Remember you add value when you have value.
