14 understanding dealing with immorality

  1. You must understand you are created in the image and likeness of God Almighty.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” (Genesis chapter 1 verses 27 KJV)

  1. You must understand you have God’s blessings.

“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Genesis chapter 1 verses 28 KJV)

  1. You must understand who you are in Christ.

[3] “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

[4] Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” (Romans chapter 6 verses 3 to 4 KJV)

  1. You must understand your body is the temple of God.

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” (1Corinthians chapter 6 verses19 KJV)

  1. You must understand you are brought with a price.

“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1Corinthians chapter 6 verses 20 KJV)

  1. You must understand you are no longer a slave to sin.

[1] “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

[2] God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” (Romans chapter 6 verses 1 to 2 KJV)

  1. You must understand that you have to check the circle of your friends.

“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: But a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” (Proverbs chapter 13 verses 20 KJV)

  1. You must understand that you should avoid the company of the immoral.

“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” (1 Corinthians chapter 15 verses 33 KJV)

  1. You must understand that you have to discipline yourself and put your body under subjection.

“But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.” (1 Corinthians chapter 9 verses 27 KJV)

  1. You must understand to always feed on God’s word.

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” (Joshua chapter 1 verses 8 KJV)

  1. You must understand and make sure you are the doer of the word.

“For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:” (James chapter 1 verses 23 KJV)

  1. You must understand that you should cherish the gathering of the brethren.

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” (Hebrews chapter 10 verses 25 KJV)

  1. You must understand you have always to meditate on God’s word.

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, That I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm chapter 119 verses 11 KJV)

  1. You must understand to always keep your altar ablaze.

[29] He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

[30] Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

[31] but they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah chapter 40 verses 29 to 31 KJV)
