Seeing breakthrough facing the giant
[4] “And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.
[5] And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass.
[6] And he had greaves of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his shoulders.
[7] And the staff of his spear was like a weaver’s beam; and his spear’s head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and one bearing a shield went before him.
[8] And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.
[9] If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.
[10] And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.
[11] When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid.” (1 Samuel chapter 17 verses 4 to11 KJV)
The whole army of Israel became afraid that no one was courageous enough to challenge the wiles of the enemy, Goliath. Everyone went into hiding for forty days of threats from a giant. Since Goliath was made a champion in the land of the Philistine, that never made him a champion in the land of Israel. Why the army of Israel was afraid at his threat is incomprehensible. Men who used to be victorious at war and greatest warriors, all of a sudden accept the threat of an enemy which drained their potential to confront.
Life is not about the one who makes a lot of nasty noise, life is about the one who takes calculative strategic decisions to breakthrough and willing embark on it.
[8] “And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.
[9] If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.” (1Samuel chapter 17 verses 8 to 9)
The army of the Israelite were moved by the threat of Goliath, and crippled by his words enslaving them. Little did they think about the glorious moments that will emerge from facing and defeating the giant. Life is not about the one who makes a lot of nasty noise, life is about the one who takes calculative strategic decisions to breakthrough and willing embark on it.
“And the Philistine drew near morning and evening, and presented himself forty days.” (1 Samuel chapter 17 verses 16 KJV)
You can’t believe it that for forty days none of the army was able to challenge the threat of the giant. How much days will it take them to be able to figure out how to handle the mess of threat. Men are not free until their mind is free. As long as their mind is still held by fear and defeat, they can’t be victorious even when they have the best weapons for war. It is wise for one to look beyond the threat.
The giant is in to stop you from accessing the beautiful life God has prepared for you even before the foundation of the earth
You should also realise that the giant is never going to give up with the threat. Never you forget that the giant came on a mission and that is to see an individual be under hard subjection of oppression all through his or her life. The giant is in to stop you from accessing the beautiful life God has prepared for you even before the foundation of the earth.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah chapter 29 verses11 NIV)
Facing the giant is part of God’s plan for humanity. If this is part of God’s plan to humanity, we should be seeing breakthrough facing the giant. The giant is standing on the path to elevation and greater achievements. Until we start seeing breakthrough facing the giant, we will be seeing the giant from the point of hindrance, oppression and suppression.
Conclusion:
We get to understand that the giant surfaces to stir out the potential in us. Always think on how you will breakthrough that giant than running away from it. The giant you keep running away from will keep coming after you.
