The important of forgiveness

“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.” (Psalm chapter 32 verses 1)

“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” (Proverbs chapter 28 verses 13)

The problem in the christendom is that people apply self medication in sin, addiction and bad habit, instead of involving God fully by accepting by faith the finished work of Christ on the cross. Forgiveness is like when two persons are fighting, and one is holding the other on the ground. Trying to separate them by pulling the person on top but he insists not to let the other go. As long as he holds the other on the floor, they will remain there. Once he let him go, both of them will be free. But as long as he refuses to let go, they will remain there. That is why forgiveness.

12 – Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

13 – For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” (Philippians chapter 2 verses 12 to 13)

25 – I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

26 – Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.” (Isaiah chapter 43 verses 25 to 26)

When one sin is forgiven, restoration occur. Guilt crippled your Father from attending to your prayer. When God forgive, He also forget it.

10 – He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

11 – For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

12 – As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

13 – Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.” (Psalm chapter 103 verses 10 to 13)

1 – Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

2 – Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

3 – For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

4 – Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.” (Psalm  chapter 51 verses 1 to 4)

10 – Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

11 – Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

12 – Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

13 – Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.” (Psalm chapter 51 verses 10 to 13)

When you are making excuses, you are sinning. Take responsibility.

Forgiveness is given by faith and it is received by faith. It is not by feeling.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1John chapter 1 verses 9)

Holding to your guilt is doubting what God has done for you.

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” (Romans chapter 8 verses 1)

Guilt will hinder the flow of breakthrough and healing towards you. Guilt opens door for the demon to attack.
