10 principles of stewardship
- I am not my own:
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” (1Corinthians chapter 6 verses 19)
The decision of my life belongs to God.
- I belong to God:
“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1Corinthians chapter 6 verses 20)
- I came with nothing:
“For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.” (1Timothy chapter 6 verses 7)
“And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.” (Job chapter 1 verses 21)
- Everything I have I received it:
“For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?” (1Corinthians chapter 4 verses 7)
- Until I give myself, I can’t give my goods:
“And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.” (2Corinthians chapter 8 verses 5)
- God gives according to ability:
“And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.” (Mathew chapter 25 verses 15)

“And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.” (Luke chapter 12 verses 18)
- Let my giving be commentionate with what I have:
“Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.” (1Corinthians chapter 16 verses 2)
- What I don’t used, I will lose:
“Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.” (Mathew chapter 25 verses 28)
- God comes seasonally to look for the investment He made in us:
6 – He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
7 – Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?” (Luke chapter 13 verses 6 to 7)
