Sin is too costly
I am amazed how much sin can cost. This drew my mind back to begin to see the mystery of how much costly sin could be. Sin is a commodity that no man can afford its price after the fall of man. Sin made man who was made to the exercise full dominion and authority on the earth, suddenly became the slave in the land he was made to rule. Sin made man to become an object of mockery. Sin made man, though he is man on earth but he is less valuable.
It is quite unthinkable and ridiculous to start thinking on the level of reproach sin brought upon mankind. Yes it was man’s disobedience that brought such predicament upon himself, yet it should not be enough reason to face such ugly tumult all through his life time. Sin has what it takes drain a human being and drain him or her to death. What a costly commodity sin is? How costly is this commodity?
Paul in his letter to the church at Rome in the book of Romans says,
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans chapter 3 verses 23)
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans chapter 6 verses 23)
Yes it was man’s disobedience that brought such predicament upon himself, yet it should not be enough reason to face such ugly tumult all through his life time
If the wages of sin is death, that simply means that the only way sin will be satisfied with an individual is until that person embrace death. As long as the person under the mercy of sin is still breathing, sin will want to mesmerise the person all day long.
It is astonishing that even if the whole men and women were to donate their lives and blood before our Lord and master Jesus came into scene, that would not have been enough to pay for sin. I want us to understand how costly sin could. Even the blood of the fallen man is never worthy of the price of sin. That is why the wages of sin is death. The only way out was death. Oh my God, what a horrible life that would have been! Those in the old testament spent much in buying lamb for atonement of sin.
Even the blood of the fallen man is never worthy of the price of sin
It will interest you to know that sin drew the full attention of the heavenly bodies including God Almighty. Because there was no other way man could gain freedom from sin, God had to show interest. Man has tried with all that is in his power, yet no avail to eradicate sin. What the genuine price for sin was, was beyond man’s comprehension. Man could not help himself. Man could not pay the price of sin even if he lives for ages. It was on that note that God made a call,
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” (Isaiah chapter 6 verses 8)
There was no other genuine way to pay for the sin of mankind except God come in the flesh of mankind, and take up the full responsibility to liberate man from the mess of sin. Sin was too costly that God Almighty has to use His own blood to pay for the sin of man mankind. Hallelujah. What a loving Father is Lord God Almighty!
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John chapter 3 verses 16)
There was no other genuine way to pay for the sin of mankind except God come in the flesh of mankind,
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans chapter 5 verses 8)
It is the blood of God Almighty through Jesus Christ that paid it all. Yes, the blood of Jesus is the blood of God. Jesus is the begotten son of God. Nothing in this life has the capacity to grant man freedom, except the blood of Jesus. Nothing in this life can grant man such awesome platform to embrace salvation, except the blood of Jesus.
It was the blood of Jesus that paid it all without anything trace of sin. The blood of Jesus paid for our redemption. The blood of Jesus granted us justification before the Father. The blood of Jesus brought satisfaction upon mankind. Oh, how precious is that flow that washed away our sin, nothing has what it takes but the blood of Jesus.
Nothing in this life has the capacity to grant man freedom, except the blood of Jesus
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John chapter 15 verses 13)
For Jesus laid down His life because that was the only way the sin of man of man could be adequately handled. There is need for blood to flow for complete redemption of man and that should not be any how blood, that is why the blood of the whole lamb on could not purchase the redemption of man. Jesus being God came in the flesh and offered Himself as the passover lamb.
“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1Corinthians chapter 6 verses 20)
“All of you, slave and free both, were once held hostage in a sinful society. Then a huge sum was paid out for your ransom. So please don’t, out of old habit, slip back into being or doing what everyone else tells you. (1Corinthians chapter 7 verses 23 MSB)
Conclusion:
We need to understand the three letters word “SIN” in detail as it is one of the costliest commodity in life if not the most costly. If you are thinking righteous living is costly, you better not try sin.
To make right with God Almighty say this prayer,
Lord Jesus I acknowledge my sins
Have mercy and forgive me of my sins
Come into my life and be the saviour and master of my life.
Thank You Jesus.
Congratulations and welcome into the body of Christ.
