RESPONSIBILITY STRENGTHEN LEADERSHIP

Responsibility strengthen leadership

The strength of leadership is responsibility. There is no true leadership without responsibility. If there is no responsibility, it does not worth leadership. Where there is leadership lies responsibility. You can’t talk about leadership without talking about responsibility. The true call for leadership, is a call to responsibility. That is why leadership counts when responsibility counts.

When you see a servant and transformational leader, you have a person of responsibility. There wouldn’t have been any leadership if there is no responsibility. The absence of responsibility indicate the absence of leadership. If one has not developed the zeal to embrace responsibility, he or she is not yet ready to assume leadership position.

Where there is leadership lies responsibility

Leadership simply means leadership. The strength of leadership is responsibility. The joy of leadership is responsibility. It is responsibility that gives leadership stamina. Leadership is defined by the responsibilities they were able to accomplish. Failure in the place of responsibility is failure in leadership. Success is the place of responsibility is success in the place of leadership.

Man came into scene to assume a leadership position. In that leadership position lies the responsibility of exercising dominion and authority over every living creature. It was based on responsibility that man was granted the priviledge and opportunity to experience and exercise leadership. If there was no atom of responsibility for man, man would have been existing in the spirit elsewhere.

Failure in the place of responsibility is failure in leadership

26 – “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 – So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 – And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Genesis chapter 1 verses 26 to 28)

You see why God blessed man was on the basis of taking responsibility. God blessed them and asked them to take the responsibility to be fruitful. Man will be blessed if he takes the responsibility to exercise multiplication to what that is entrusted in his hands. Man will prove his significance when he replenishes that which was given to him. To subdue the earth will require much energy, yet man has what it takes to do it.

It was based on responsibility that man was granted the priviledge and opportunity to experience and exercise leadership

It was out of responsibility that God had chosen man. You have to get this into your head. There is no true definition that equals man which is not tied to responsibility. Man and responsibility is inseparable. Jesus on His account to exercise leadership to disciples said to them His wish is to carry to the responsibility of Him that sent Him and to finish it.

“Jesus said to them, My food (nourishment) is to do the will (pleasure) of Him Who sent Me and to accomplish and completely finish His work.” (John chapter 4 verses 34 AMP)

“We must work the works of Him Who sent Me and be busy with His business while it is daylight; night is coming on, when no man can work.” (John chapter 9 verses 4 AMP)

Jesus is God in the flesh and He is our role model. We will be recognised and remembered by what we have  done. It is never how long we live that matters, it is how effective we were able to discharge our leadership responsibilities that matters.

Conclusion

Paul on his account to testify that leadership is strengthened by responsibility says,

“But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” (1Corinthians chapter15 verses 10)
