Be the leader
When God stepped out for creation, He took full responsibility for the leadership. Every act of creation is God exercising leadership. God is a leader not by title, God is a leader by responsibility. When God took the leadership to create heaven and the earth, the earth was in a complete mess and took the full responsibility as the leader to turn things around. If He had not taken the full responsibility as the leader in charge of creation, nothing significant would come out from the ugly earth.
1 – “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 – And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” (Genesis chapter 1 verses 1 to 2)
God is a leader not by title, God is a leader by responsibility.
In the midst of complete mess up God prove He was the leader. To be the leader is to be in charge. To be the leader is to take full responsibility. To be the leader is being the agent of transformation. To be the leader is to invent change. Once there is a leader things experiences transformation. God is not a man that He would lie. The very fact He took leadership, He expected man to do likewise.
We are created in the image and likeness of God Almighty. In God’s image there is perfection in leadership. There is no situation that cannot be handle as long as one is aligned with God Almighty. What is it that made God Almighty so effective and perfect in exercising leadership? It is wise to realise that what made God the leader of the universe was actually bestowed on man. Man was designed and made an effective leader from birth.
To be the leader is to take full responsibility
The image of God talks about the character of God. It is in stirring up the character of God that is in us, then we shall experience the true leadership. Anyone who will experience a tremendous impact in the area of leadership, must understand the place of character formation in leadership. There are values in us that the power lies in us stirs up.
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.” (Psalm chapter 111 verses 10)
God is the author of leadership. To lead effectively you must understand God’s place in leadership. If God has called you into leadership, strive to lead as God Almighty should have lead. Be the leader and take up the full responsibility. Even if things are rough and encounter a horrible situation, be the leader to stand your ground and make things right by putting them the way they should be.

Do not forget that you are into this tournament because a leader is needed. Be the leader who brings new innovations. Be the leader in the midst of complete mess you will always provide solutions. Be the leader when others think of resigning and quitting because you people confronted confusion and controversy, still tell yourself you are here for a time like this. Be the leader in the midst of darkness you will provide light. You should understand you are a solution bearer, therefore be the leader.
13 – “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 – Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 – Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 – Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Mathew chapter 5 verses 13 to 16)
What significant difference will it make if everyone is as you are. Why you are there, what impact have you made? What you there, what solution did you bring to the table? Be the leader because God wants you to be the leader. Be the leader because God will want to reveal His glory through you.
Conclusion
You are the leader God is counting on. You are the salt and the light of the world. May you live for your leadership to impact life and cause transformation. It is in your power to live and make your leadership to count.
